We had the good fortune of connecting with Mesita Partridge and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mesita, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to start a business to build a legacy for my family. More than anything I loved the thought of working for myself, and it has definitely paid off.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started my career in 2006 at the Convention Center where I managed events for up to 30,000 people at one time. I have a strong background in logistics and handling many moving parts at one time. People often say that I am never stressed when things go wrong at events, and it’s because I’ve dealt with much bigger issues. My previous jobs helped me to establish the beginning of a wonderful career. I feel like I can conquer the world! My career definitely hasn’t been easy. Being an entrepreneur has its ups and downs, but the key is to keep going. Even when you feel you’re all alone and no one is supporting you just keep going because they are always watching!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d start with cocktails at the bar at The St. Regis. We’d then go to Little Alley Steak for dinner. The next day we’d stroll the Botanical Gardens and have brunch at Two Urban Licks. We’d do a little shopping in Buckhead and then relax with massages at The Waldorf Astoria. For the remaining time we’d have lots of girl time and good conversation at my home with cocktails in hand!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shoutout my college professor from Georgia State University – Professor Deborah Robbe. After transferring to GSU from another college I had no clue what direction I wanted to go in with my life. I took an intro to Hospitality Class with Professor Robbe and completely fell in love. She helped me to get an internship that summer with the Georgia World Congress Center and the rest is history! After my internship ended I was offered a job as a sales manager for the convention center, and I’ve been in the industry ever since!
