Hi Mercedes, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. My upbringing was in 2-parent home and my siblings. My parents really never displayed “the struggle” persay but as we got older they shared with us things that we never knew was going on. They made it work and they made it through and I admire their strength. My parents always instilled in me to go for what I want but do it the right way. That’s something I stand on everyday.

What should our readers know about your business?
My pride and joy is The Unique Enterprises Company which is a branding and marketing agency. I started this business with no money but a vision. Often times we see others doing what you love and you seriously doubt if you can even stand up against them. That was me in the beginning. But every business offers something unique that others may need and I feel my business is definitely a need for the community. My brand has changed the dynamics of many growing businesses and I’m blessed to be able to be apart.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d definitely do the Bike Tour, go eat, and visit a couple of bars for some drinks. I like to eat so food will always be involved.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to everyone who has prayed for me, motivated me, and pushed me to be the best version of me.
