We had the good fortune of connecting with Menen Nehneh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Menen, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I view risk taking as essential to life. You are constantly taking risks everyday, so why not bet on yourself?
Risks taught me so much about myself. I learned how to create structure, be my biggest supporter, how building a brand works, etc. I took the biggest risk when I decided the quit my first marketing job to fully trust in myself/ entrepreneurship. It was absolutely needed and ignited a passion inside of me to keep going. I put full trust in God, and the ability I had to make every dream I had come true.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a multifaceted creative with many talents. I would say the pure authenticity I exude while showcasing all of my trades make me different. I made, and am establishing myself as the niche. I have recently aired my podcast and have been cementing that endeavor while steeping into a different era of creating. This year I look forward to sharing more editorial work, music, more books, my first business and more content. I am also working on creating more for my personal YouTube as well! I arrived to this space by favor. I accidentally started doing all I do. At times I feel like I am in a lazy river because everything flows so well I forget to remember. This journey has definitely been eye opening to say the least. I have learned so much, and am no where near finished!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a super outdoors girl! I love going in nature, having fresh fruit, good food, music, and a nice drink! It’s the Jamaican in me. On Monday I would take my best friend to a walk on the belt line, maybe ride scooters and get an açaí bowl. On Tuesday, we would go to Friskey Whiskers, talk, play with the cats, and enjoy some nice music. On Wednesday we would go to reiki yoga, and after go to Traces of Akoya to make some incense from scratch. Thursday we would do a mini road trip to either the river/beach, enjoy the water and have nice food. Friday we would go to an amapiano night, have nice drinks and dance. Saturday we would rest, ground, and meditate. Lastly, Sunday we would have service/devotion in the morning, have an early Sunday dinner, then go to Rum Punch!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to take the time to firstly thank God because without Him I would be nothing. My village and community has supported me so much through this journey. For starters my beautiful mother, my older brother, my younger brother have all taught, shaped, and supported me. Constantly putting their necks out to help me further become who I envision myself to be. My mother taught me the ropes because she started the same way, and passed me the torch. My older brother always went an extra mile to ensure I was logical, and created a secure foundation to build from. My younger brother constantly teaches me patience, and reminds me of why I am doing everything I am; for the generations to come to find benefit through my career. I am so grateful to Mooke Micheaux, Marissa, Adrian, Bradford, Monique, Ashley, Sydni, Moe, Sachi, Aunty Syd, my team (honey bees), 77 magazine, and all of those that support and send love. Thank you deeply for the love, and the dedication to always being here for me. Lastly, thank you to myself for working so hard and choosing to go after the life you deserve.
