Meet Melody Williams | Plus size Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Melody Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melody, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am Melody Williams, born at Grady Memorial Hospital here In Atlanta,Ga I am 42 years of age and I am a plus size model, humanitarian here in Atlanta. I recently lost my mother in August ’23 and it’s been a rough one but I get a LOT of spunk and attributes to the modeling industry from her being the fashionista she was. I come from Brothers (no sisters) and being the last of the bunch, it was a delight for my mom to Dress me up, get my hair did every weekend, latest shoes, latest fashion, etc…and that followed me all the way to now. She went through health issues during my life but you couldn’t tell cause she stayed FRESH &KEPT A ATTITUDE about it with a LOT of confidence lol….baby I was raised by a DIVA!
So in 2016 I decided to go FULL on with the modeling career that I’m pursuing and along the way I ALWAYS desired to include my mom, sending her my pictures, ideas, etc….i also while I’m behind the camera, I am also making sure to push self love, me and my mom ALWAYS made sure that we remembered that…no matter the situation, make sure you put on whatever you want to and just KNOW you are going to look good in it. My upbringing helps me helps others look good and have hella confidence while doing so. Long live Pamela Williams 💐

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So on the employment side, I am employed at Macy’s for the past 15-16 years, me and Macy’s go hand in hand, I am the lead in the men’s shoe dept and also a my client stylist, I have styled Akon, Funny Marco, Light skinned Kesha, Lamon Rucker, saucy Santana, etc…. So with me being a model and being Employed at Macy’s was a plus for me cause it’s my whole job from the cameras to the magazines onto helping others find their style as well.
The difference from me and others, I actually enjoy my job cause it goes hand in hand with my profession, I always explain to people that while you are searching for that employed income , at least make sure it’s something you would stick around and learn and monetize from.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
