We had the good fortune of connecting with MelodicB and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi MelodicB, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I see risk as the gap between where I am and where I’m meant to be. Every major move I’ve made, creatively or personally, came from choosing uncertainty over comfort. Not all of them worked out, but every one pushed me forward. Playing it safe never did that.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is rooted in emotion. I don’t just want people to hear my music, I want them to feel it. I try to create sound that moves people without needing an explanation.

I really love how much I’ve grown. Not just in numbers or placements, but in the way my sound has matured. I’ve worked many hours on my craft and it’s special thing to be able to hear the growth myself.

Getting to this point in my career thus far wasn’t easy. I came from a place where resources were limited and exposure was even harder to come by. There were and still are moments where I felt stuck, overlooked, and sometimes uninspired, but I keep showing up. I guess that’s just because the love I have for music overshadows the low moments.

What I want the world to know is that I’m building something real. This isn’t just music, it’s legacy. I want people to hear the heart in it, the faith in it, and the hunger behind it. My story is still being written, but every chapter comes from a place of truth.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Mornings: Start each day with breakfast and coffee at your Bible study spot. It sets a peaceful, positive tone.
• Studio Time: Spend a few hours daily creating or vibing in the studio, no stress, just pure creative energy.
• Meals: Explore local eats — think soul food joints, trendy burger spots, or a hidden gem taco place.
• Hangouts: Mix it up with activities like:
• Chill afternoons at a local park or skate park
• Catching a live local music show or open mic
• Visiting a cool record store or art gallery
• More fun nights at the skating rink or bowling alley with friends

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to Derrick & Latoya Gibbs. These are my day one supporters and also my parents. They are pushed and supported me from the moment I was terrible at making music to make a living making music.

Shoutout to White Hill Missionary Baptist Church. This is my home church where I was able to discover and practice my calling.

Shoutout to Zeke Listenbee. He is my mentor. Showing me a different way of looking at Music and business allowing me to hone in and work out the rough edges of my ministry.
