We had the good fortune of connecting with Mehdusa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mehdusa, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My work life balance has always been pretty consistent, I work hard for the things I want and have in life. But it has definitely taken a drastic change as I am six months post partum from giving birth to a beautiful baby boy, and he definItely keeps my schedule full. Being a mom full time now definitely has changed my work life balance a lot. Especially when it comes to balancing it between work, studio time, photo shoots, all of the above. But it’s also made me more aware of time, and what can consume it. Sometimes there are days where my son is content in the studio with me and other times my producer will come through and not even see my face because im doing mommy things. Some people say after you have a kid your life is over, but i think it is just beginning. It just depends on how you balance .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Overcoming challenges is always hard, but if you know what you want you can always!!! Get through them. Something that I would like for people to know about me and my brand, is that it’s a vibe. If you vibe with me, you vibe with me. If you don’t, you don’t. I’m not for everybody and that is totally okay. Also I learned along the way is to live your life no matter what. No matter your ups or downs, your obstacles, your enemies, or even your friends. Love your life baby, cuz no one will love it better than you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First place I would take a friend for a great night out is Believe Music Hall, and th hard not because i work there. It’s great venue with amazing staff that do their absolute best. Now, if we’re going for food, I’ma brunch girl. Homegrown of Moreland is the spot! The staff is amazing there as well and the food is phenomenal. I love visiting Piedmont park for walks with the baby, and 26thai in Buckhead/Lindbergh for an exquisite dinner. Ask for Toni, she’s the bomb.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If I have to shoutout anyone, of course its my husband Ken. He is my biggest fan, my biggest supporter, and the person thats hardest on me. And as much as we would like for someone to sugar coat and walk us through things, he is not it. He keeps it very real and straightforward even if it pisses me off, but who else will. If I can shout out another person it would be my best friend, brother, and producer TJ. He also keeps it very real and just pushes me as hard to be on top of my stuff. He always makes sure my music folder is fulllll! Im very blessed to be surrounded by people who truly care about me, my music, and everything im about.
