We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Young Gamble and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Megan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Launching a product in the market takes a lot of strategy, sleepless nights, campaigns, and sourcing packaging. All of these aforementioned tasks are not easy, let alone knowing all the requirements needed to produce your products in the marketplace, and all the required tasks and activities for knowing when you can launch your product. Get Level Consulting, an operations management firm specializing in project management in the packaging and product life cycle industries is a service provider to provide strategic consultations and services for product based business to help P.I.M.P Your Packaging™ from conception to distribution to the retail shelf. As the world is navigating the “new world” from the coronavirus pandemic, The Great Resignation, Inflation and supply chain disruptions shifting our world and more, I realized many business owners and professional alike wanted to learn more about packaging as part of their product launches; yet owners were apprehensive about discretionary funds and would rather spend hours and effort scouring Google to find the right information. That’s when I realized we need to expand our training division to accommodate these growing brands. Therefore, with our growing consulting practice, we decided to take our services and curate into self-paced online trainings and workshops through our training division Accelerate Level Institute. We are on a mission to help 500 brand owners, professionals and services providers (ie. branding, marketing, and similar agencies) learn the ins and outs of packaging as part of their product development to be compliant, ready to launch in retail and grow their brand.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Get Level Consulting (also referenced as GLC) was initially started as a business development firm to help professionals start and grow their businesses in 2017 and our training division was established in 2018 to train aspiring project managers to become certified to increase their income. While we had great traction, we decided to pause the services we were offering to gain clarity during a pivotal time in the owner, Megan’s life. She was still working her corporate job while building and pivoting GLC.
One day, I became frustrated with the plateau I reached in my career as an Operations Manager for a health, beauty and wellness company. I loved what I did in that role, however, I was performing full-time roles that should have been split among four people in a very toxic environment and the salary did not equate to my number of hours and my responsibility.
When the pandemic distributed our world in March 2020, this allowed me to sit down, gain more clarity, and to “create my destination” to not be solely reliant on corporate work to get me there. That is when the “ah-ha” moment came to pivot my GLC practice to conduct a lot of the same responsibilities as my last corporate job.
Now, happy to share that Get Level Consulting is a boutique operations management firm specializing in project management in the packaging and product life cycle industries. Whether you’re an established household brand or a burgeoning company with new innovation, GLC offers bespoke, cost-effective solutions targeting your company’s specific product development, management, and logistical pain points…wherever you are in the process to P.I.M.P your Packaging™ from conception to distribution to your retail shelf.
P.IM.P = Plan, Implement, Monitor, & Prepare for launch
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta has so many staple and low key spots. Contingent on time of year, this could alter. However, since summer is my favorite time of year, here are my top picks
Grab a bite from Poor Calvins, Southern Gentleman, Rays on the River, or Noodle in College Park
Sip coffee from Chattohooche Coffee Company and enjoy the view along the river (great mid week work spot)
Never go wrong chilling the Green at Piedmont Park,
Meetup with friends or date night for Smyrna Food Truck Tuesdays
Dinner at Elevation Chophouse or 54th Fighter Club to eat good cuisine and watch private plane come in and out,
Check out Atlanta United game and pregame around Centennial Park,
Take a hike along Palisades Trail or Stone Mountain,
Relax for spa day at Jeju Sauna (my favorite)
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As an entrepreneur, there are many people (in person and virtual) that are integral along toward the path of success. Some of my top people and resources, My Packaging Crew: Camille Corr Chism, Adam Peek, Cory Connors, Sharon Euccee, Evelio Mattos, and countless others. Thank you for your wisdom, friendship and mentorship to aid in navigating the packaging waters with launch of my practice.
My #1 Supporter, Business Partner and Best Friend: My Husband, Brandon Gamble! I could not do this without you! Your wisdom, calm nature, grind with building Pallet Pros, and reminding me to take moments of rest…is paramount in all I do! I truly appreciate you! I never thought I would become an entrepreneur until we met; now I couldn’t picture life without you and the empire we are creating!
