Meet Megan Sundquist | Tie dye artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Sundquist and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Megan, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Not being afraid to try new things or things that were not “in the plans”. Having a healthy level of attachment to your concept while being open to how you can match that with the perceived value others see in it and what the world is asking/needing from you.
Let your determination to spread your message and overall concept outweigh the details of how you saw it working.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am most proud of my partnership with Boho Jo -a hip store front in olde town historic Conyers. My business has also been featured in several movies and TV show filmings.
Another really awesome moment for me was having Lacy Claire Rogers from Americas next top model become a repeat customer of mine who wore my hand sewn jumpsuit in a photoshoot.
Getting to this point was very challenging and took many sleepless and long nights working on my craft and perfecting it. I sacrificed many weekends and many hours marketing my business, selling at events, and coming up with ideas.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Since I’m not from Atlanta I actually have had my best friends visit and have shown them tons of cool spots around the city including the aquarium, Jeju Sauna and Spa, the zoo, Kennesaw mountain, and Ponce city market to name a few.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I thank my mentor for showing me how to focus on and decipher what is working, what to invest in, and what risks to take. She believed and believes in me and my vision and that gave me the confidence to take the necessary risks. I also thank my mom for being a total support and marketing queen! She has helped me with multiple pop up shops and events and is always wearing my pieces and spreading my brand through her daily life and social media.
