Meet Megan Grace

We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Grace and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Megan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Up until very recently I would have said I was very risk averse. I had a comfortable job which paid the bills and I was living in my home town. My mum passed away in May and it served as a reminder of our mortality and how little time we have. I needed to shake my life up and take a bet on myself, push myself out of my comfort zone and do something which terrified me. I have been on a solo road trip around America for a month, with another month left. I knew no one here, I had only booked 1 nights stay prior to arriving and have been travelling places which I have only ever dreamed of going. Now, I think risk is essential. Without it there is no reward.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I tend to summarise my work as “capturing moments”, because I don’t like to narrow down what it means to be creative. I believe creativity is multi-faceted. I put people at the core of what I do, going above and beyond for every client and understanding what it is they need without being intrusive or overt. I have an attention to detail which is impeccable.
I’m looking forward to returning home and opening my own studio space in England in 2025.
Nothing about my careers, photography, or life has been easy. But if it’s not hard, it’s not worth it.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The most recognition has to go to my mum and my family, as well as my friends who I consider family. They’re so supportive and always have been when it comes to my photography. Second to this, I had great teachers throughout school, college and university who always challenged me and pushed me. Within the past couple of years I have also had clients, turned friends, who shower me in support and kind words and encouragement. People who have literally put their work on hold to wait for me to return to the UK again. I have some of the most amazing clients.
