We had the good fortune of connecting with McPatti Langston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi McPatti, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Most successful people are risk takers. They are not followers and rise to higher positions because of their tenacity. I like change and I feel with my skill set I am an agent of change.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The difference between me and other organizers is that I teach my clients through systemization. I like them to have 5 systems they work on throughout the week in order to stay the path of their journey. The book sets me apart because it mixes self-help and fiction. While it follows a fantasy story, every chapter is filled with tips and activities for readers to engage with. Through working with Joyce Rennolds and creative visualization, I was able to manifest the big picture of what my life was going to be and how to get there. I have learned that expectations often lead to disappointment. When I started my organizing business, I expected it to take off quickly, but it did not. I found that I needed to wait for the right client in order for things to begin to take off. The biggest thing I want people to know is that there are no hopeless cases for organization, anyone can do it and change their life for the better.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them first to Montaluce in North Georgia. With great views, you feel like you are right in Italy despite being in the mountains. I would take them to Amicalola Falls and hike to the top to enjoy the views of the Blue ridge mountains. Another great spot is Lake Lanier. They have a wonderful hotel known as the Legacy Lodge and offer boat cruises around the lake. After that we would likely dine at one of the many fine restaurants on the property.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mentor was Joyce Rennolds. She was a motivational speaker who felt that everyone had story to bring to life. She had a positive energy class where I worked with her with for 10 years. She emphasized that what you focus on creates your new reality. She was one of the driving forces behind the publication of my first book “Magically McOrganize.” Joyce was a life force who motivated me to start my first business.
