We had the good fortune of connecting with Maya Turnipseed and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maya, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success and the brand of my business has been my transparency and vulnerability. I am the same person no matter if you catch me out with my family or speaking to a group of women at a church. I am going to always be Maya, the loud and loving person who just so happens to cuss (not curse) a lot. I am comfortable within my skin and I wanted my brand to exuberate the same personality,

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Intuitively Maya is an intuitive business and while many may classify me as a coach; I am literally your favorite bourgeoise Auntie. It took me a while to get here because I wanted to do everything instead of focusing in on what I am good at, helping others live comfortably in their own skin. It wasn’t an easy journey because I had to find myself first, once I did that it was only up from there. It took a year off to just heal, and I did just that. My intuitive gifts grew and my purpose became clear.

Right now, I am interviewing for our first annual wellness retreat and I couldn’t be more excited. This is a dream, I have been trying to birth for four years and now it is here. I just want everyone to know that you can be your authentic self and run your business your way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a homebody, that is no secret among the people that know me. They also know if we are doing anything it better be before 9 pm and not a lot of people. I do know how to have a good time though, so I would book a private catered picnic with The Picnic Diary here in Tampa. Then we would do a little shopping at International Mall, and end our night at a Private Members only bar here that requires a passcode. They literally have a new location every weekend. During the week would definitely include a Spa Day, a Day trip to Madiera Beach, and the art scene in Sarasota.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out my husband, Maurice, and one of my mentors, Jheanell Bloom. My husband was an integral key in my healing journey. He allowed me space and protection to heal on my terms. He supported me and loved me through the good and bad times. Without his encouragement and support; I wouldn’t be with you all.

Jheanell is a huge piece of me learning about myself from an astrology standpoint. If you haven’t figured it out, I am heavy into the “woo” of my business, and her program North Node changed my life. Within that program I found Maya. I became comfortable in my own skin. Due to that Intuitively Maya was born and I’m doing it on my terms.
