Meet Maya Jackson | Chief Operations Officer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Maya Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maya, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Being goal-oriented and developing strong habits of reading and research have been key factors in my determination and success in building Nationwide Medical & Diagnostic Services. From the beginning, I understood that setting clear objectives was essential to navigating the complexities of the healthcare industry. By continuously educating myself—whether through books, industry reports, or market research—I gained the knowledge needed to make informed decisions and stay ahead of trends.
My commitment to learning allowed me to identify opportunities, overcome challenges, and implement strategies that fostered growth. Research became my foundation for innovation, ensuring that every move was backed by data and insight rather than guesswork. These habits not only strengthened my leadership but also instilled a culture of continuous improvement within the company. Ultimately, my dedication to knowledge and goal-driven mindset turned vision into reality, allowing Nationwide Medical & Diagnostic Services to thrive.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Nationwide Medical & Diagnostic Services is a state-of-the-art facility offering 24/7 in-office and mobile services to meet clients’ needs wherever they are. We specialize in DOT and non-DOT drug testing, including probation, pre-employment, and random drug testing.
Our DNA and paternity services play a crucial role in various situations, including gender reveal testing, establishing paternity, mitochondrial DNA testing, and ancestral DNA testing. Additionally, we provide pre-employment screenings, such as background and credential checks.
Committed to safety and emergency preparedness, we offer CPR, BLS, first aid, and safety training classes, empowering individuals to save lives in critical situations.
Our journey hasn’t been easy—facing financial struggles and challenges as a minority entrepreneur, we persevered through self-education, research, and government contracting opportunities. Despite setbacks, we continued pushing forward and are now proud to announce our expansion into North Georgia.
To aspiring entrepreneurs: Never give up. Setbacks are normal—push through, keep moving forward, and success will follow.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a friend came to visit for the weekend, I’d make sure they experienced some of my favorite spots around town. We’d start with an amazing meal at Marietta Fish Market, where the food never disappoints. For breakfast, we’d stop by Duluth Breakfast Bar to enjoy a delicious start to the day. One of my must-visit places is the Atlanta Botanical Garden, where we could take in the beautiful scenery and enjoy some sightseeing. A visit to a wine vineyard with outdoor reading would add a relaxing touch to the trip. To wrap up the weekend, we’d find a lively spot with music and line dancing for a fun and energetic evening.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank Ernest Miller, from LyftRyderz, Ricky Sirmans and other mentors for continued support throughout my journey.
