We had the good fortune of connecting with Maxx Pain and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maxx, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When you start to develop a brand in the beginning stages it’s hard to get opportunities, upon starting my own Record label and my own Film Production Company I was able to Put my brand at the forefront of opportunities I created thru networking.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When I sat out on this Musical Journey I wanted nothing more than to win a Grammy and Go Multi Platinum that was it, as time went along and it didn’t happen as quick as we want it to my focus shifted to the energy of the music how does it effect people and how can I use the music to have a bigger impact on people emotions without having the budgets for marketing that’s when I said to myself I’m gonna put this music in movies. After that I starting writing my first film “My Hittas” which I brought out in theaters and had major success which catapulted my music streams for that soundtrack to 18 Million to date, I didn’t know about Tubi and Amazon Prime at the time so I went straight to YouTube where the Movie went viral in 3 months racking up over 2 Million views. I followed it up with “My Hittas 2” and the unthinkable happened, YouTube took my page down from flags from parents cause too many young kids were watching it and it was violent content and Youtubes rules had just changed so they clipped my page. It was a blind blessing cause the movies got Picked up thru Indie Rights and Put on Tubi Tv and Amazon Prime becoming 2 of the top Films in 2019 and still remain to this day. Since then I’ve done another movie called “The Noise in Music” a Music/Romance/Drama that has been viewed by Millions and is one of the top musicals in the country starring nothing but indie artist and indie actors. It wasn’t easy by far to transition from Music to Movies and going back and fourth doing both but that’s what sets me apart, I’m willing to do the due diligence cause it’s not work to me I write the movies like I write my music, I go into it from a frequency level and write what I see as the movie plays or play what I hear when it comes to music production. The major thing was navigating my funds to make the production happen from start to finish, some days we had no food on the set and the actors or actresses didn’t mine cause we were hungry for what we saw to be a great project. I’ve learned along the way to tunnel vision and only see the good cause it’s so much bad that if you focus for one second on it the effect starts to overwhelm you and that’s how people take breaks or stop all together. I want the world to know I’m not here to fit in or be in the talks, I am here as one of the best in the world when it comes to music creation and it translates to films that I write and produce that come across to audiences as I can’t get up til it’s over TV, My brand is in automatic pilot, I love people,Animals,Nature, I love life and that ultimately breeds the reality I reside in “Heaven” or maybe it’s purgatory cause I live in heaven with hell all around me. I’m most proud of the fact that I never quit or settled for minimal success with or without anyone.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I’m gonna be honest if it’s Atlanta you have to go to The Slutty Vegan and get the burger. I am an advocate for vegan and vegetarian lifestyle by all means but Esco Seafood on Edgewood I heard is the best hands down. If you ever go to Detroit they have a spot called “Burger Grill” that’s second to none on the west side, Just in case.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly their are a multitude of people that built me up to be who I am at this point. I Can credit Ali Allen for my something you have to hear interview skills it was plenty days he sat me down interview style and practiced. I thank Cherry Washington for her dedication thru pushing me to different opportunities year after year with little to no breaks it kept me on top of my game at all times. I wouldn’t be this skilled without the late “Tip Green” My old manager who kept me in the studio on someone with a names record. My Homie Eric Bell brought the MPC to me at 18 when mine got stolen and see keep going I’ll never forget it. Cierra Caldwell put money up for different Projects I had when my budgets ran short, My Uncle Bird, Big Woods, Big Walt, SSE Champ, Dirty Bird helped my understand how to produce a record, I got a lot of energy I needed to be me thru all these People.
