Meet Matty O’Brennan | Songwrighter/Guitarist of The Chodes

We had the good fortune of connecting with Matty O’Brennan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Matty, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
We kinda just tripped and fell into it, We had to cover a slot in a festival last minute, we throughly together a band got drunk and just learned a bunch of misfits covers, We showed up and when they asked what our band name was we just laughed and said “we are The Fuckin’ Chodes”. We wanted to just have fun, play on stage and go home, Turns out it was more fun than we thought and started actually writing songs

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
All the members of the band have spent years touring with other bands We all reached a point in our lives where we just wanted to play shows and have fun without worrying about perfecting anything behind the scenes, We built this up to entertain ourselves without stress and have a great time,

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
You’re gonna wanna stay at the Star Motel, we’re gonna go to Bambis Dollhouse and you can’t skip the Bambi’s Food truck, Then on to the abandoned marina for the extracurricular illegal activities. Don’t forget to hit up the dispensary in the old greyhound station, Then we’ve got to hit up joes corner pub for wings. On the way to golden nugget don’t forget to swing in moseys and talk to the kitchen guys for a quick pick me up

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If it wasn’t for the Plug Uglies Wrecking Crew we wouldn’t be here, and a huge shout to to Chy and Molly from Some Kind of Nightmare for really pushing us to get on the road
