We had the good fortune of connecting with Matthew “Moody” Ramessar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Matthew, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I feel risks are just a part of life. You can’t necessarily grow and learn without taking that big risk. As far as my life/career, I wouldn’t be where I am without going to that studio session, without spending as much money as I did on equipment, and so on.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a music producer, I feel what sets me apart from others is my motive to be different. Throughout my entire life, I’ve always wanted to stray away from what’s “normal” by experimenting constantly and showing confidence in whatever I present. I feel I get a chance to showcase my own style and set the tone for who I am through my own sound.

Truly, I am most proud of the respect I have gotten throughout this journey, I’ve always looked at respect as a big factor in your growth in terms of anything. So for me, I do feel proud of that because it shows how I’m doing within my field.

I wouldn’t look at my journey as hard, but it also wasn’t something that happened overnight. I feel in order to make it in whatever field you are interested in, you have to have passion. Without passion, everything will feel difficult. Of course, there will always be challenges such as getting into certain environments and staying consistent but it is all about your mind and how passionate you really are.

As far as myself, I want to be recognized as someone whose ethic and personality is shown through their work.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly, I’d take them to JJs for food. Almost all the food there hit. If I was to take someone to hang out, I’d take them to the colony square to chill or just anywhere around midtown. It’s real cool around there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out to my family, the guys, Cam, Kelis, Ashton, Mikeey, and almost everyone else who has supported me along the way too. Tap into Vivahen on Instagram for clothes, Artbyinfiniti_ for the hardest furniture and paintings and Artfrmglo for some more paintings from your favorite shows. Just want everyone to eat.
