We had the good fortune of connecting with Matt & Suzanne Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Matt & Suzanne, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Strong House was launched in 2018 by Suzanne Young, Matt Young and Trey Travis. Sharing common beliefs, they have worked together to create a program for children who lack the full and necessary support at home needed for success. Strong House is a place for children to meet new friends and learn life skills that they may not have been taught. It is our intention to help our members learn about the positive things in life and make them comfortable with stepping outside of their comfort zones in their community, their school environment and at home.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Strong House Foundation: Dedicated to building and training the young people of West Georgia to become spiritually, mentally, and physically stronger in Christ.

At the Strong House Foundation, our mission is to work alongside educators, counselors, and case workers to promote the health and well-being of the next generation. Our community is dedicated to engaging at-risk youth through a variety of group activities, such as physical training, arts and crafts and more. Expressing love to them as soon as they arrive allows them to feel safe at our establishment. Providing various athletic activities, arts and crafts, tutoring and bible study allows us to form a connection that they may never have had before.

Our goal is to enrich the lives of all the children we oversee, but what we have learned is the main thing they need is love. Once they have received our love, we are able to guide them spiritually, mentally and physically.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Strong House Foundation is centrally located in Haralson County, which is a small community.

We have taken the children on different outings to watch the Braves, hiking adventures, cave exploring and Disney world.

We try and get the children out of the Strong House Foundation as much as possible, providing them experiences that maybe they have not experienced before.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
