Meet Matt Norris | Atlanta REALTOR®

We had the good fortune of connecting with Matt Norris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Matt, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I see risk as a necessary part of growth. To me, risk isn’t about being reckless—it’s about stepping outside of my comfort zone and trusting that the work I put in will pay off. Every major opportunity in my life has come from taking a risk, whether it was choosing to leave a stable job to pursue real estate full-time or putting myself out there to build a brand in a competitive market.
In my career, taking risks has meant betting on myself, making bold moves in negotiations, and staying ahead of the curve with marketing and strategy. Some risks pay off big, others become learning experiences, but either way, they push me forward. I’d rather take a calculated risk and learn something than stay stagnant and wonder, “What if?”

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career path has always been centered around serving people. I spent 19 years in the service industry, with 16 of those in the restaurant business. That experience taught me so much—not just about hard work, but about people. I learned how to handle the public, how to listen, how to adapt, and most importantly, how to provide value to others in whatever way I could. Whether it was making someone’s day better with great service or just being a listening ear, I found a passion for connecting with people and understanding their needs.
From there, I transitioned into the wedding industry, which took my level of service to another level. I worked with a different type of customer—one making big, emotional, and sometimes stressful decisions. It was in this role that I truly honed my ability to guide people through major life moments with patience, professionalism, and a personal touch.
Real estate felt like the perfect next step. It was another way to serve people, but this time, at an even deeper level—helping them navigate one of the biggest financial and emotional decisions of their lives. But making the switch wasn’t easy. Leaving behind a steady paycheck to dive into a commission-based career was a huge financial risk. Thankfully, I had an incredible support system that believed in me, and that gave me the confidence to push forward, knowing success would follow if I stayed committed to my purpose.
What sets me apart is my ability to truly connect with people. My background has given me the ability to understand different personalities, communicate effectively, and anticipate needs before they even arise. I don’t just help people buy or sell homes—I guide them, advocate for them, and make the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
More than anything, I want my community and the world to know how much I love seeing others succeed. Whether it’s a first-time homebuyer finally getting the keys to their dream home, a seller getting top dollar for their property, or just helping someone gain clarity in their journey—I thrive on being a part of those wins. My goal is always to bring value, no matter what that looks like.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Day 1: Welcome to ATL – Margaritas, Manicures & Music
First stop: Superica or Nuevo Laredo Cantina—because unlimited chips, salsa, and margaritas are non-negotiable.
Quick detour for some self-care: nail salon + cocktails—because why not start the trip feeling refreshed?
Evening concert at The Tabernacle, State Farm Arena, or Variety Playhouse—because live music is a must!
Day 2: BeltLine Stroll, People-Watching & Pups
Brunch at Murphy’s in Virginia-Highland to fuel up for the day.
Grab the dogs and hit the Atlanta BeltLine—stop for a King of Pops popsicle, browse Ponce City Market, and, of course, enjoy some quality people-watching (ATL does not disappoint!).
Afternoon chill session at Fetch Park, Atlanta’s off-leash dog park bar—because the pups deserve a social hour, too.
Dinner at The Optimist for amazing seafood, or Victory Sandwich Bar for something casual.
Day 3: Parks, Shopping & Speakeasies
Coffee at Chrome Yellow before heading to Piedmont Park for a morning walk with the dogs.
Shopping at Krog Street Market or Ponce City Market, with a rooftop stop at 9 Mile Station for skyline views.
Fancy dinner at Marcel (for steak lovers) or St. Cecilia (for Italian vibes).
Speakeasy drinks at Jojo’s Beloved Cocktail Lounge or Ticonderoga Club to wrap up the night.
Day 4: Brunch & Farewell Fun
Final brunch at Atlanta Breakfast Club (because no one should leave without trying their chicken & waffles).
Quick stop at Sweetwater Creek State Park for a scenic dog-friendly hike.
If there’s time, one last drink at Little Spirit or a chill brewery like Monday Night Garage before heading to the airport!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! No one succeeds alone, and I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have amazing people in my corner. First, I want to give a huge shoutout to Benjamin and Lexi Benomar with Benomar Properties. They have been incredibly generous with their time, always willing to answer my questions and offer guidance whenever I need it. Their leadership, knowledge, and the way they conduct business have set an incredible example for me. I wouldn’t be where I am without their mentorship, and I’m truly grateful for their support.
I also have to give a special shoutout to my partner, Mark Rosenthal, who is my number one cheerleader. Taking the leap into real estate full-time was a big risk, and Mark has been by my side every step of the way—supporting me, believing in me, and embracing the uncertainty that comes with this career. His unwavering support means the world to me, and I couldn’t do this without him.
