We had the good fortune of connecting with Matiyah Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Matiyah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business. Was first the thought of is this something I really want to put my time on effort into as well as money. Once I looked at all the pros and cons, my next thought was how do I attract people to my business, how do I promote where do I promote etc. I started looking up information to educate myself on business as a whole. After thinking researching and writing things out, it’s like all the things I was nervous or anxious about started falling into place. My thought today and everyday now is how do. I keep it going how do I make my business a unique thing. How do I make a difference.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m and independent rap artist. And I also have my own clothing line. What sets me apart from others is that I not only want to stand out but I also want to have meaning and everlasting, something that doesnt make people feel like theyre buying a NAME. As well with my music i dont want people to listen to my music and think i sound the same as others or that they cant feel me. In order for people to listen to my music or buy my clothing I have to make it to where it all has meaning to someone rather from my words or my logo. My proud moments is getting ombbloodbath out Houston on my song LATELY or when I sent sauce walka manager a shirt and it ended up being meaningful.
It wasn’t easy getting to where I’m at professionally but with the help of those with knowledge and networking (major part) it has mad it a little smoother. The lessons I’ve learned is stay consistent , get educated and network! I want the world to know that me and my brand will be everlasting.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a big shout out to my friend demlon Clayton a fellow artist , who taught me the ins and out.

Also want to give a shout to my brother ladarrious for helping on my journey and being my engineer and teaching me techniques. Shout to my brother gabe for being by me every step. Shout out to my fam Shaquille for being my producer as well and believing In me. Last but not least I wanna thank everyone that belive and me and support me on my journey with music. Thank you to those who have been supporting me since day one.
