We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary Stallings and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mary, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My decision to start my own business was rooted in a deep desire to provide high-quality, therapeutic massage care in a setting that truly prioritizes client wellness. After working in the industry, I saw a clear need for a professional and compassionate environment where clients—especially those dealing with chronic pain, recovering from injuries, or referred by the VA—could receive personalized, medically-informed massage therapy.

Starting Rejuvenation Massage and Body Works LLC allowed me to build a practice focused on integrity, healing, and professionalism. I wanted to ensure that every aspect of the client experience, from the initial referral to each session, reflected the standards and care that I believe people truly deserve. By creating my own business, I had the freedom to hire like-minded licensed therapists, maintain strict ethical practices, and serve the community in a way that aligned with both my values and clinical standards.

Ultimately, the goal was—and continues to be—to offer a safe, trusted space for therapeutic recovery and wellness, especially for underserved individuals such as veterans or those recovering from traumatic injuries.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Rejuvenation Massage and Body Works LLC is more than just a massage practice—it’s a healing space intentionally created for people who need care beyond the surface. What sets us apart is our commitment to medical and therapeutic massage, specifically for clients who are recovering from injuries, surgery, chronic pain, or trauma. We serve many clients referred by physicians, chiropractors, and the Veteran’s Association, and each treatment plan is designed to support long-term recovery and wellness—not just relaxation.

What I’m most proud of is the reputation we’ve built since opening in 2015. We’ve become a trusted resource in the community, and we’ve earned that by staying grounded in professionalism, compassion, and consistent care. Seeing our clients leave each session feeling better, moving easier, and regaining quality of life is the most rewarding part of what we do.

Getting here wasn’t easy. Like most small business owners, I’ve faced my share of challenges—navigating licensing, building a team of skilled therapists, managing overhead costs, and earning the trust of a medical community that doesn’t always understand the true value of massage therapy. There were setbacks, slow seasons, and moments of self-doubt. But I pushed through by staying focused on the “why”—knowing that people needed this service, and that I was called to provide it.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of staying true to your values. There’s always pressure to conform or cut corners, but I’ve found that integrity builds longevity. I’ve also learned the importance of community and relationships—from doctors who refer patients to clients who send their friends and family, word-of-mouth has been our most powerful tool.

What I want the world to know about my business is this: Rejuvenation Massage and Body Works isn’t just about massage—it’s about healing. We’re here for the people who have been told to “just deal with the pain,” for the veterans seeking relief, for the individuals quietly fighting to recover their health. Our doors are open to those who need more than a spa day—they need someone to understand their pain and help them move forward.

This is my purpose. And I’m grateful every day to live it.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people and influences that have played a part in my journey, but if I had to dedicate a special shoutout, it would go to my family and the incredible clients who have trusted me over the years. My family has been my foundation—offering encouragement, prayers, and real support when things felt uncertain or challenging. Their belief in my vision gave me the strength to keep moving forward, even on the hardest days.

I also want to recognize the mentors and healthcare professionals who encouraged me to pursue medical massage as a specialized path. Their guidance and shared knowledge helped me shape a business that truly focuses on healing, not just relaxation.

And last but certainly not least, I owe so much to the clients who’ve allowed me to be part of their healing journey—veterans, accident survivors, and everyday people just trying to feel better. Their stories, resilience, and feedback have fueled the purpose behind everything I do at Rejuvenation Massage and Body Works.

This business wasn’t built alone—it stands on a foundation of community, care, and collaboration.
