We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary Kym and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mary, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
I chose to prioritize my mental health and peace over climbing the career ladder, friendships, and relationships. I do not rationalize, apologize for, or justify my mental health or healthy boundaries to anyone. I refuse to lose my mind to make folks happy!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Please tell us more about your business.
Mary Kym: Path to Seven Coaching empowers women entrepreneurs to build, launch, and scale thriving businesses. I guide them through a proven system designed for ease and momentum, paving their path to achieving a seven-figure income. What makes this special is the personal touch. I leverage my own challenges as a businesswoman, life experiences, and corporate leadership to create a guided path to success. I understand the struggles women face, like burnout, imposter syndrome, and limiting beliefs. My program tackles this head-on, allowing women to build businesses with strong foundations.
We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, and what you are most proud of or excited about.
My biggest differentiator is my unwavering belief that women deserve to succeed without the struggle. There’s no reward for suffering! My program goes beyond strategies. I equip women with the mindset and tools to overcome internal obstacles and build businesses that ignite their passion while achieving financial freedom. This empowers them to break generational cycles and build wealth for themselves and their families. Seeing my clients achieve their dreams is my greatest source of pride and fuels my excitement for the future.
How did you get to where you are today business-wise? Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
My journey wasn’t easy. As a black woman in business, I’ve faced my own share of challenges: burnout, imposter syndrome, you name it. However, these experiences fueled my passion to create a smoother path for others. The biggest lesson learned? There’s immense power in sharing our struggles and supporting each other. By leaning on my network, coaches, and mentors, I discovered the importance of community and its role in fueling success. This is at the core of Mary Kym: Path to Seven Coaching.
What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Mary Kym: Path to Seven Coaching isn’t just about building businesses; it’s about empowering women to become leaders who build lasting wealth. My story exemplifies this. I overcame challenges to create a successful business model, and now I’m on a mission to help other women do the same. We deserve fulfilling lives, financial freedom, and the power to break cycles that hold us back. My business helps women rewrite their narratives so they can build a brighter future for themselves and future generations.

Day 2: Foodie Paradise in SoHo. We will take a stroll through South Tampa (SoHo) and admire the historic architecture. Maybe grab brunch at Olivia: a charming spot with a lovely patio and mouthwatering brunch options and dinner at Bern’s Fine Wine & Spirits, a world-renowned wine store for a guided tour and tasting.
Day 3: Beach Bliss and Sunset Cocktails. Take a day trip to Clearwater Beach, known for its sugar-white sand and calm waters. A day at the beach is always a fabulous idea! We may hit up Busch Gardens on Day 5 and relax for the rest of the week.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To my incredible tribe of women, my heart overflows with gratitude! You lift me with your cheers, creating a safe space to be myself. You challenge me to grow, celebrate my victories big and small, and hold me steady when I need it most. Thank you for being the wind beneath my wings and the fire in my soul!
