We had the good fortune of connecting with Marvelous Marissa Daniel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marvelous Marissa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I recently published my first book entitled, “From Brokenness to Marvelous.” This book is based on my life’s experiences and how God has blossomed me from a broken little girl into a marvelous woman of God. I wanted to share my personal testimony and the many challenges and traumatic experiences I endured in my childhood, college and life after college. I wanted to inspire young people all over to not give up on themselves or their dreams despite the many broken moments they may have experience. This book has blessed and inspire people all over the world. I’m grateful that God allowed me to step out on faith and published my story. My book can be found on Amazon, Barnes & Nobles, Clark Atlanta University’s bookstore, Walmart and in your local bookstores and libraries. From Brokenness to Marvelous is also in my hometown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Springfield, WI and East Chicago Public Library.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Marissa Laverne Daniel better known as, “Marvelous Marissa” is vibrant, outgoing, and a television personality that is on her way to the top. She is a woman that has experienced many challenges and broken moments, but with God all things are possible. She is the true definition of Broken into Beautiful. She was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia at the age of 19 when she was accepted into Clark Atlanta University. Throughout her matriculation at CAU, she experienced many challenges and financial difficulties, but it was by the grace of God that she graduated with honors and walked across the stage with tears of joy on May 21, 2012 with her undergraduate degree in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in Radio/TV/Film. Upon graduation, Marissa had a difficult time landing a job in television. However, that did not stop her. She prayed and continue to be diligent towards accomplishing her dreams. God answered her prayer and blessed her with her own television show on WATC TV 57 called, “Broken into Beautiful,” in August 2017. Marvelous Marissa interviews men and women of God who has experience some broken moments in their lives and they share how God has delivered them from being broken into beautiful. She has interviewed guests such as WSB’s TV retired reporter/anchor Monica Pearson, Kiana Dancie from Sister Circle, and many more exceptional people. Since doing Broken into beautiful, Marvelous Marissa has become a regular host for Atlanta Live on WATC and she was a gospel radio host for IBNX Radio Network. Her radio show, “The Praise in You” was the networks top rated show in 2019. She was awarded, “The Girl Power Award” at the 2018 NOW Conference and she was the Media Honoree at the 2021 All Star Weekend Media & Music Awards. She is often booked for speaking and hosting engagements throughout the southern region. She was the Mistress of Ceremony for the 2019, “Lupus Gala” the Mistress of Ceremony for the 2020 “Walk to End Lupus Now Kickoff Rally” and the Auction Host for the 2020 Pinnacle Awards & Scholarship Gala (just to name a few). Marvelous Marissa always had a passion for television since the age of 12. She was once told by her kindergarten teacher that she had a speech problem. This left her discouraged at a young age, but with her determined spirit and with God by her side, her dreams came true despite the many challenges, rejection, and broken moments she faced throughout the years. God delivered Marvelous Marissa from low self-esteem, depression, suicidal thoughts and comparing herself to other people. Those broken moments helped build her up and she no longer believes the lies of the enemy. She wants the world to know that God is the only one that can delivered you from being broken and blossom you to being beautiful! God took the broken pieces in Marissa’s life and made it marvelous. She didn’t give up on her dreams despite the many challenges and the doors that were shut in her face. She was once broken, but now she is beautiful!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorites spots in Georgia is Atlantic Station, Brookhaven, Alpharetta and the Avalon.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to first give honor and thanks to my heavenly father for all of my blessings that he has granted me and for answering my prayers. I thank God for his hand that is over my life and for bringing me this far. I would like to thank my mother, Laverne Lardydell, and my father, Dwight Daniel, for their continuous love and support. Thank you to everyone who has helped me along my journey and for sowing into my life.
