We had the good fortune of connecting with Marta Carrasco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marta, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose to pursue an artistic career because Ive been driven by passion for creativity and it also allowed me to express myself. It gave me a desire to communicate emotions and ideas through art .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What I love about my career choice is, it sets me apart. I have burning desire to make difference in this industry and ambitions speak for themselves when it comes to my drive. Initially I did freelance work ,then I came across an opportunity to become a signed model. It wasn’t easy creating a work/ life schedule because I still kept my 9-5 while I ventured into the modeling industry. Also, coming from an immigrant family background, they had their reservations about me stepping into this kind of light and I still have to reassure them that this is a lucrative profession. Slowly we are getting to a place where I have family support as well as close friend support. A lesson that I’m still learning is staying focused and keeping my eyes on my goals. I would love for the world to know that I will be the next Afro Latina plus size model and to get ready because I’m coming full force.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite places to go to is Cru lounge for the amazing food ,Stone Mountain Park to hike up the mountain, High Art Museum to be influenced by cultural artwork , and
Flying Biscuit for the best brunch in the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wanna give a shoutout to my management team A World Ent for believing in me and just pushing me to reach my goals.
