We had the good fortune of connecting with Marquis Timmons and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marquis, what makes you happy? Why?
My happiness comes from fashion, music and all things creative. Fashion allows me to express who I am without saying a word. Music is the soundtrack to my life; it sets the mood, evokes emotion, and gives me a space to be vulnerable or powerful. Creativity as a whole is my freedom. Whether I’m styling, conceptualizing shoots or building my brand, it’s the process of bringing an idea to life that excited me the most.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The thing that’s set me apart is my ability to merge bold storytelling with personal expression. My style isn’t just about looking good it’s about creating a mood, evoking a feeling, and making a statement. I got where I am today my unapologetically staying true to myself and not allowing any one else’s opinions impact my vision. It was hard but I learned very early on that people laugh and make fun of things they don’t understand but eventually turn around and do the same thing. One lesson that I learned is always stay true to myself and be okay with having a different point of view because this is what makes us special. What I want the world to know about me is that I’m not just a handsome face and the clothes that I wear, I have substance and I’m humble.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Me and my Bestfriend would definitely go wine tasting, it’s one of our favorite things to do. We would also check out the best places in town to eat because we love food and then we would do karaoke. I thing the most exciting things to check out are things that correlate to my passions in life.
