We had the good fortune of connecting with Marques Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marques, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
For me, I can say the preparation is mentally tiring. When I am on the air for four hours and you hear me talk about different topics it is very mental challenging to do every day. To be an On Air Personality, it is almost like being a News Anchor preparing to do news. It is a lot of work that goes into it to prepare yourself. Even when it looks easy it isn’t because you have to be entertaining and hope no one doesn’t change the station.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an On Air Personality for Olive Broadcasting Network on Praise 105.5 WZBN Gospel radio station. I didn’t see myself doing this but God works in mysterious ways. For years, I was like I always wanted to be the family Martin Payne” from “Martin” and it happened. I remember walking in the radio station for an interview and walked out with a job. You know that was God who did it for me. It was not easy because I knew I had the personality for it but didn’t know how hard it was going to be at first. After studying and training it has been amazing and I love it. Don’t ever give up and if God brought you to it he will bring you through it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
At the moment, I stay in Albany, Georgia and there’s a couple of things to do. My favorite place to visit is Olive Garden. I love the vibe and the food is amazing. It is a couple of places to hang out but mostly I am at home relaxing and preparing for the next thing.

Thank you for this opportunity! I want to shout out God has blessed me with so many gifts. God gave me the strength to not give up and he keeps me going. I want to thank my mom and dad for being so supportive. They have watched me through the journey and never made me feel a certain way about giving up on my dream. To my sister Belinda and brother Greg, thanks to you two for being there when I need you guys. Thank you for all that you do and how you guys keep pushing me. I want to say thank you to my girl Alexandria, for everything she does for me. She has been supportive and always there for me to keep me going. To my fans, thank you guys for it all. You guys keep me going and always supporting me. I appreciates every single one of you.
