Hi Markita, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
The affirmation I consistently speak to people in any situation whether it is personal, or professional is that “It is ALWAYS your turn.” I tell people this to remind them that they don’t have to wait to grow. And they don’t have to get permission from anyone to follow their dreams and goals. It means there is no line for you to wait in for you to start bringing your ideas to life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I recently started my consulting business New Horizon Personal Branding Co. Where I help service-based entrepreneurs make bigger impacts on their business by strengthening their Personal Brand. This is accomplished by teaching them how to use the emotional connections with their clients and customers to stand out. Becoming a Personal Brand Consultant wasn’t an easy decision to make. My certifications were in Life Coaching & Emotional Intelligence, and I thought about how saturated the Branding market is, I even had doubts about if I could be effective enough to bring real value to the entrepreneurs that would seek my help. But then it hit me, I was trying to fit in when the purpose of me helping others is to stand out. I understood that my ability to understand what motivates people was my gift. And that I could bring value to the entrepreneurs in ANY industry. What the world needs to know is that “YOU are the niche.” Thats my company motto and mission for helping clients.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a total “Day Time” Girly… Soooo for me the best thing to do when visiting ATL would be to get a CityPass and book a stay downtown near Centennial Park. You can enjoy a variety of spots all week like the Georgia Aquarium, Zoo Atlanta, College Football Hall of Fame, and more for 1 price. And most of all a lot of these places are within walking distance to each other so there are so many opportunities to sightsee other things.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes out to my daughter. Her belief in me and my abilities is unwavering. Shes the most encouraging person I know. Even at such a young age she’s mastered the art of motivating me in ways I never thought could come from a child. She is my “WHY”. And credit also goes to every person who has given me advice, encouragement to “Keep going” or who has said that I Inspire them. That really fuels me.
