We had the good fortune of connecting with Markia Ash and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Markia, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Hi My name is Markia Ash, a creative director, beauty expert, and all around entrepreneur. I am the owner of The Pro Boss Agency a creative agency specializing in assisting e-commerce and service based brands aiming to launch a new campaign. Our focus is on providing expertise in creative direction and producing compelling advertising visuals for social media campaigns.
The idea to start my business came from my experience in building my lash brand and from there I learned other skills like graphic design, planning brand shoots, and content creation. Then I started managing other brands from real estate professionals, to beauty artist, construction companies, and so on. Also anytime I had a personal photoshoot I would plan it out in detail and execute my ideas flawlessly. Combined with my previous experience and Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing I learned how to communicate with potential clients & mastered the art of storytelling. My experience with managing and building brands goes all the way back to 2017, I’ve just learned how to narrow down my services that meets all my creativity needs. Something I like to call “Directing Iconic Brand Moments”.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is being a creative director and the art of storytelling through online campaigns. The one thing that I really think sets my work apart from others in my industry is my attention to detail and the client’s audience. When creating a visual campaign, it’s important to truly understand the client’s audience because it needs to communicate what their product or service is directly to their target audience. If not, it’s just a pretty campaign with no message and a waste of money. Also, my attention to detail in crazy! I love to be organize to make sure everything looks well together and is executed properly. I am most excited about my work and how I’m able to make my ideas come to life. I love how we produce commercial style visuals aiming to mimic the marketing of fortune 500 brands and hopefully one day that will become my reality. I got to where I am today professionally just by trusting God and putting work behind my faith. No, it wasn’t easy but once God gave me the vision I knew I had to trust it because no word from God will ever fail. Some lessons I’ve learned along the way is to trust the process and not worry. I’m only 25 years old and with hard work I’ll get to my destination. It’s all about enjoying the journey. I want the world to know that I was always destined for this. Since a little girl, my great-grandad would always say I was special. Of course I thought he was just talking, but now I truly understand the vision. Some people are in it for the money, but me.. I truly care about my clients, keeping my heart pure, and making a difference in this world.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love a good meal and grabbing drinks with my friends. So I would say my favorite spot in the city is Southern Fire Kitchen, the food there is chef’s kiss! If my friends were visiting, I’d check out Château Elan and do a little wine tasting session. Then I’d schedule a message at Woodhouse spa because I love to relax in my spare time since I’m always busy working and on the go.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout article to my parents! I am so thankful that my dad introduced me to entrepreneurship and my mom supports my dreams no matter what. I thank both for allowing me to purse my college education and supporting me throughout my life with no hesitation. I am grateful for the guidance and I know I can’t repay them for all they’ve done. But I hope me becoming the woman they’ve raised me to be makes them proud. I love them both dearly!
