We had the good fortune of connecting with Markea Goodman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Markea, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve worked in Corporate America for over a decade, and during that time, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges small businesses face when they don’t have the right systems and processes in place.

Larger corporations have the advantage of resources, tools, and streamlined operations that set them up for success — and I wanted small business owners to have that same level of opportunity by introducing them to the tools available to streamline their systems and processes and allow them to focus on thriving in their services.

From that desire to help people in my community build strong, efficient systems and processes, MBG Technology was born. My mission is simple: to use technology as a tool for empowerment, efficiency, and lasting impact.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career has been shaped by a mix of technical expertise, a deep love for problem-solving, and a heart for helping others succeed. With over a decade in the tech industry, I’ve worked across Software Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Automation — experiences that have given me both the precision to solve complex challenges and the vision to see how technology can truly transform a business.

What sets me apart is my ability to bridge gaps between technical expertise and people’s understanding. We don’t just design systems — we design solutions that people can actually use and benefit from. I believe technology should be an enabler, not a barrier, and I’m passionate about making tools and processes accessible for businesses of all sizes.

I’m most proud of launching MBG Technology. It was born out of my desire to give small businesses the same level of opportunity and resources that large corporations enjoy. My 10+ years in Corporate America taught me the importance of systems, processes, and data-driven decision-making — but I also saw how often smaller organizations were left behind simply because they lacked access to those same tools.

The journey hasn’t always been easy. There were moments of uncertainty, times when I had to teach myself new skills quickly, and seasons where I had to balance building my business while still excelling in my corporate role. I overcame those challenges by staying anchored to my “why,” leaning on my support system, and embracing continuous learning.

Along the way, I’ve learned that:
• Your network matters — relationships open doors that skill alone cannot.
• Adaptability is key — the tech world evolves fast, and so must you.
• Purpose fuels persistence — when you’re clear on why you’re doing something, it helps you push through obstacles.

What I want the world to know about me and MBG Technology is simple: we aim to empower others in the community. We’re here to help businesses operate efficiently, scale strategically, and show up in a way that reflects their true value. It’s not just about technology — it’s about helping people and organizations thrive.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta has no shortage of brunch spots, but if you’re looking for a fresh, healthy option, I’d recommend First Watch.

For dinner, if you’re craving a great steak, H&W Steakhouse in Peachtree Corners is a must-try.

When it comes to activities, I’m a big fan of nature trails. My top recommendation is Roswell Mill, where you can enjoy a stunning waterfall and a truly relaxing atmosphere. For a mix of activities, dining, and entertainment, The Works and The Battery are also great places to explore.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I’m grateful for the gifts I’ve been given to help my community grow and evolve.

Shoutout to my husband, Winn Goodman, for being my biggest supporter, great listener, and constant encourager. To my family — especially my parents — thank you for leading by example, teaching me the ropes of entrepreneurship, and always cheering me on.

I’m thankful for my corporate experience, which built the skills, discipline, and insight that fuel MBG Technology, and for my mentors who’ve shared their guidance and resources along the way.

Finally, to my amazing clients — thank you for trusting us with your businesses and allowing us to bring your vision to life.
