We had the good fortune of connecting with Mark Mitrulescu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mark, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
It’s definitely the passion I have for what I do. Nowadays everyone is chasing money, a quick paycheck, and short term things. Nobody really thinks about the long term. And the truth that everyone is often faced with is that once you lose the passion for something you do, everything else falls right after it. Without passion there is no drive, there is no ambition to become better, there is no working late nights and loving every minute of it. I always tell the people I meet that money will always follow the passion, but the passion will never follow the money. The more passionate you are about what you do, the easier it will become to work later, work harder, learn more, and just become the best version of you that you can be. And I live strongly live by that.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Firstly I am a photographer as that is how I started out. Thanks to my family at Entourage, I am now able to explore videography due to them pitching in and buying me a gimbal. Something I will never forget. I try and set myself apart from others by studying hard and outworking the competition, also by taking just about every opportunity presented to me. I begin my shoots by taking a deep breath, looking around, and seeing where I can get the best shot, angle, and make sure everything lines up. I had developed my eye for photos and video through video games which is where I started. When I was about 13, I didn’t have a camera, nor did I have the transportation to attend events, so naturally I started creating in other ways. My video game photography page amassed 10k followers in a short amount of time and I began to fall in love with cars again along with my new found photography hobby. My mom bought me my first camera and it was off from there, I began taking photos wherever I could, and posted them to garner attention. Sadly, I had to step away for roughly 3 years due to personal reasons which really set me back. Suddenly I was playing catch up. But, with my head up and my eyes focused on the next thing and the road ahead, I managed to regain my confidence, photo skills, and creative energy within a short period of time. Along the way I’ve learned that no matter how hard it gets and no matter how dark your road may appear, there is always a bright light at the end waiting to shine on you. I co-founded Entourage with family in mind. In a world where it’s cool to be a “loner”, we wanted to show everyone (especially in the car community), that people with good hearts and intentions still exist. We strive to create a family of dope cars with even more dope people. In the end of the day cars fade, but good souls live forever.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This one’s easy. Atlanta is one big mesh of culture and if you blink once you might miss it. The Georgia Aquarium is a must as its one of the biggest aquarium’s you’ll probably ever see. And it has a conveyor belt… like come on now? Midtown is another great spots for food, photography, and culture. Every time I’m in the city I go through Midtown and Atlantic Station just to see if there’s anything going on and any pictures I can take. Next we definitely need to go to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Its just a surreal place to be. To round out the trip we would go on a safari at Zoo Atlanta. You’d be surprised how much nature there can be in the city!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom along with my team (Entourage) deserve the most credit. My mom has always believed in me and my ambitions in life. While she hasn’t always understood them, she has done and continues to do everything she can to support me and teach me along the way. Often times throughout my life my mom has sacrificed herself in order to make sure I have all I need. And if that doesn’t tell you everything then I don’t know what will. Although she never shies away from telling me I’m wrong when I’m wrong… I know she will always be there to hold me up in the end. In my opinion, she is the standard for moms everywhere. She always finds a way no matter what.
My team on the other hand understand exactly where I’m coming from and where I want to go because they are immersed in the same culture as I am. My team is comprised of really great people who support each other in everything we do and take care of each other when we need it most. I have learned so much from everyone in Entourage and I continue to everyday and it has truly made me a better creator and a better person in general.
