We had the good fortune of connecting with Mark Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mark, how do you think about risk?
When it comes to risks I have come to a place of understanding, within the last few years, that risk-taking definitely aligns with our faith. Faith in God as well as faith in ourselves.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What has helped me as a successful business owner in addition to setting my company apart from others is the fact that I developed a “share the wealth” mindset early on. Many consulting firms are represented by just a couple of consultants who provide services to clients. In an effort to not stretch me too thin and to create opportunities for other top-notch consultants, our company works as a consortium of subject matter experts. Therefore, we can provide diversity and the best fit for each client. As a speaker and author, I bring inspiration to my audiences that speak to their heart and soul. I inspire and empower my listeners to go for what they want in life. I certainly did!
In addition to hard work, I’ve gotten to where I am today professionally by way of having people who saw the talent in me far before I saw it in myself. Definitely not easy but I wouldn’t change the journey. Overcoming challenges is a part of life’s process. Many people like myself overcame the challenges by a variety of means including shedding some tears, crying out to God in frustration and fatigue, and having people in our circle that will encourage us and remind us that quitting is never an option. Lastly, prayer and my FAITH!
I’ve learned many lessons along the way. A few that I believe to be key are; your net worth is correlated with your network, our faith is my most powerful possession, and the importance of visualizing our dreams
I believe we can accomplish anything we want. Most of us simply don’t understand how to access what we want. I enjoy helping people to develop the blueprint of getting there through my speaking.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is a tough one. I love the restaurant scene and options for all of greater Atlanta. We would do a clear variety to include eating at Pappadeaux, going to a Hawks game, stopping by Fellaship Cigar Lounge, and going to the Mall of GA. Then touching different sides of Atlanta including JJ’s Fish & Chicken on Candler Road, getting some good workouts in and sauna detox at Lifetime Fitness, hiking the mountain at Stone Mountain Park, going for a jog by the Chattahoochee River at Cochran Shoals Park. Next would be hanging out at Avalon in Alpharetta then touring some historic Atlanta sites such as the King Center, viewing the original Ebenezer Baptist Church, and riding around downtown Atlanta. I would also throw in some random stops such as The Busy Bee Restaurant, K&K Cafeteria, and Bombay Indian Restaurant.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
