We had the good fortune of connecting with Marjorie Silva and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marjorie, why did you pursue a creative career?
Deciding whether to keep going or to give up is a challenging decision, especially when it comes to something as personal and meaningful as my YouTube channel. For me, the answer lies in my passion and purpose. My YouTube channel is not just a platform for sharing my experiences; it’s a way to educate and inspire others. Every time someone approaches me with questions about my exchange or life in the USA, it reaffirms the importance of what I’m doing. People rely on my channel to gain insights into American culture, navigate challenges, and find inspiration.
I genuinely love making videos—recording, editing, and sharing my experiences. It’s fulfilling to inspire and help people through my content. There were moments when I thought about quitting, but then I remembered all the people who needed guidance and support. Thinking about them motivates me to continue.
the decision to continue or give up should be based on your passion, purpose, and the impact you’re making. The choice is clear for me: I will keep going because I love what I do, am passionate about helping others, and I believe in the value of my YouTube channel.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started my career in Human Resources back in Brazil my home country. Seeking new opportunities, I moved to the USA. Currently, I’m working as a nanny to save up for college here. It hasn’t been easy; being an immigrant comes with its challenges.
I’m proud of taking this big step alone, without family or friends. Along the way, I’ve learned a lot—not just professionally but personally too. Learning a new language, becoming more independent, and valuing my own company are some of the things I’ve gained.
Despite the hurdles, I’m determined to build my HR career here and make it even better than before. I’m excited to share more about my journey and what I’ve learned on my YouTube channel.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give a shoutout to two important people who’ve been a huge support in my YouTube journey.
Firstly, a big thanks to my mom. She’s always the first to watch my videos and gives me great ideas.
Secondly, I want to thank my boyfriend for his creative suggestions and editing tips. His input has really helped me improve my videos.
Their support means everything to me.
