We had the good fortune of connecting with Marion Ninkyi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marion, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?

As a mom of developmentally delayed children, I know that I am not the only one who is taking on the responsibility of navigating the journey. I used to feel stressed, alone and confused.

Through my amazing support system, experience, and determination, I was able to utilize tools and resources that were helpful in advocating for better services for my children so they can have a better learning experience in school. We learned to be more involved in school in more ways other than a parent teacher conference. As a result, our children are progressing at an impressive rate and we are so proud of them!

Over time, I’ve met a lot of amazing moms with developmentally delayed children and I’ve noticed the lack of knowledge they had about their parental rights when it came to their child’s progression in school.

This was hindering them to properly advocate for better services for their child. And unfortunately, it left them frustrated because of conflicts with the educators when it should be a collaborative effort for the benefit of the child.

Because of my love for helping people, You Are Advocate Worthy was born. It is a safe space, through one-on-one coaching, that provides tools and resources for moms of developmentally delayed children to find relief in advocating for the best services for their child!

What should our readers know about your business?

I want your readers to know that my one-on-one coaching program offers moms these top 3 things:

1- The opportunity to get the guidance they need to stay on top of their child’s educational plan and progress.

2-The assurance that they are enough and when they invest in a program that helps their child achieve their goals, the return on that investment is one hundredfold.

3- Inspiration to pour into their own cup through self-care and gratitude.

Since starting You Are Advocate Worthy, I have met so many inspiring moms who are determined to advocate for their children. I am grateful that they trust me to be their listening ear. Who better to seek guidance from than someone who has been where you are and has successfully gotten through it?

I want other moms to know that it is ok to ask for help, that is how you grow to become better. My coaching program encourages self-care and grace because as moms, we don’t give ourselves a lot of that or take much needed time for ourselves.

Moms worldwide need to know that we can be amazing parent advocates while taking the time to reset and refresh our minds. You can’t pour from an empty cup! Pour into yourselves so you can pour into your children for them to thrive.

You Are Advocate Worthy, I will show you why!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I would like to shout out my husband, my 2 sons, my daughter, Maelyn, who passed away recently, my parents, my sister who has been with us at the start of our special needs parenting journey and all my closest friends who I call my brothers and sisters.

Their encouragement, advice and support means the world to me. They all inspire me and I love them so much. This shoutout is for them to know I am not taking any of their advice or support for granted. I appreciate everything they have done for me and my family.
