Meet Maria Baz | Founder & Executive Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Maria Baz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maria, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
What’s meant to be will be.
Starting a business isn’t always easy. After being turned away told no, running over budget or a number of other obstacles you face as an owner you will at one time or another question yourself wondering if you were really suppose to branch out on your own and start a business. But after taking a breath or walking away for a moment and reevaluating why you started, you remember you were build for this.
There have been numerous times we’ve dove head on into a project not knowing how we would finish, but we have successful gotten through each of them. We learn from each one and utilize those points as we take on the next. But In all of these struggles I always remind myself , if it’s meant to be, it will be.

What should our readers know about your business?
BBPGEM is a nonprofit 501c3 whose mission is to give back to the community, educate and mentor youth in the arts of film, stage and music production through internship. Each year through our community outreach program we are able to bring the community together and give back helping thousands of families in need. Alongside our community outreach program we have mentor multiple young people on live sets. Giving them credits, educating them in their field of interest and building confidence that they can carry into their future career paths. It hasn’t always been easy as with any business finding funding and securing volunteers is an on going process. But we have a heart to give and helping others is second nature so regardless of the stumbling blocks we regroup and find a way.
We will continue to grow and expand because BBPGEM isn’t about us but what we can do for someone else.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband, Jeff Baz- CEO Baz Brothers Production. My husband mentored me in the industry and help me find myself as a successful producer. With that confidence and him standing beside me with the same giving heart we were able to start BBPGEM Inc.
