Hi MaResa, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
How do I know whether to keep going or to give up. I always think about where I came from and where I came from is a dark place and took me so many tears to get where I am now. Giving up is never an option, because I’m all I got it’s just me, but I got this. I have to keep going no matter how many times I fail, no matter how many times I lose. I came from nothing, but look I turned nothing into something and I have nothing to prove but a story to tell , but how can I tell my story if I give up? I feel like if I can do it then you can to. Life is hard, but hard times don’t last forever the sunshine will always shine wherever I’m at. No one can want it as bad as you. You are your biggest supporter. No one knows your vision but you. You have be the greatest at what you. There will be bumps and bruises but you can’t let a couple of L’s determine whether you should give up or not. I want the best in this life so I have no choice but to keep going.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the hair business owner of 2xscollection. 2xscollection is a 6 figure black owned hair company located in Jacksonville FL. I started my hair business in October 2021 and in 6 months I made 6 figures in just 6 months. Today 2xscollection has 500+ subscribers and has grown tremendously on every social platform. It wasn’t easy getting here it took a lot I took so many losses and cry so many tears but no matter what I kept going. Running 2xscollection everyone wanted to know how I sprouted so fast so I wrote my first book in 5 months “Road 2 Being A Boss with 2xs”. I wrote this book in the most vulnerable time in my life I was on the verge of losing everything in a IRS case. I end up writing this book to help others on starting a business in the book there are 11 chapters. I cried so much writing that book because starting 2xscollection I had a full camp and as problems start occurring so people that I thought was for me really left me on my lonely. People don’t be down for the ride they just be there for the time, success and the money. I learn so much on this journey of being a business owner, everyone intentions isn’t always genuine and most people are around for a season, reason or a blessing you just have to figure out which one God place them for. People don’t care about how good of a person you are, they only care about what benefits them. So I learned that I have to put myself first. I am so proud of myself I been through so much but I don’t look like what I been through. I learned so much I had to lose a lot. I had to lose friends and family. I learn that it’s ok to be alone everyone can’t make it to the top with you. This time round last year I was wrapped around so much love. Being a business owner changed me in so many ways helped me grow in so places that I’ve struggled in.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area and I wanted to show them the best time ever I’d take them shopping , out to eat and a few fun places that requires nature. I’d take my best friend to pandora to get matching bracelets, we would also go get seafood at Crafty Crab or the Big Crab then we would go to the escape room or painting with a twist, go to a few bars and strip clubs. I’d also take my best friend to the zoo since I never been we would have a panic in a beautiful area where we can see water. It’s not much to see in Jacksonville Florida, but I’d make sure my best friend enjoy her time while visiting.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First I want to thank God. He’s been giving me the strength to keep going, bad and good days God always got me. I want to give a special shout out to my customers. I appreciate them so much if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be where I am today. They keep me going with the supporting & motivational messages just to help me get through a bad day. I thank you guys so much. Second I want to give a huge shoutout to my forever guy my Gdad thank you for raising me to be a bright & amazing business owner. Thank you for loving me & never giving up on me. Even though you are not here with me physically I know you looking down smiling so proud of me. I miss you so much my love I’ll see you soon. Last I want to shout out to the ones that supported me since day 1 always believed in me, you wouldn’t believe me if I told you this but strangers support you more then the people you actually know. The closer you get the smaller the camp get.
