Meet Marcus Stephens: Mobile Device Technician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcus Stephens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcus, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to be independent and control my life. I have a gift with working with my hands and I love technology. I seen a problem with people paying to much to get there cellular phone repair. At time some people would have to pay the cost of the phone to get it repaired. A lot of cellular phone repair shops had high rates and they took days to return your phone. Not just that but you had to drive to a shop to get the repair. So I wanted to start a cellular phone repair shop that have low rates and same day repairs and we fix your phone anywhere. At your home, work or business, if you was out at a meeting or just getting your hair done, we could pull up and fix it while you handle your business and have your phone back to you without you having to go out your way or reschedule anything that you may have to do.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
TechRealm is the repair shop that caters to its customers. We go out of our way to make sure the customers are satisfied and provide protection plans for there mobile devices, phones cases, screen protector and insurance plans. For our customers that keep coming back we offer a discount. I’m proud to help people get there life back…. most people live on there phones and for me to help them get back to there life means a lot to me, even though I tell customers to give there devices a break, I happy to make sure they can get back to business on there mobile devices.
Staying forced and believe got TechRealm to where we are now. I can’t say hard work because it’s not work when you love what you are doing.
There was hard times dealing with customers that gave us the runaround or setting appointments and not keeping them. That’s why we require a deposit when setting the appointment.
We learned that every customer is not truthful about there devices and try to say we broke there devices when the devices where I fixable before we seen it. So we have our customers agree to a device status report before we perform any repair.
I want the world to know that TechRealm is here for you and your mobile devices. We know our customers spend there hard earn money on there devices and we want them to get the most out of them and not that’s to jump through loops to get them back working.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well I like to eat so a number of restaurants would be the first stops. For breakfast we would go to Huskers in Stone Mountain after breakfast we would ride downtown Atlanta where we would visit the Georgia aquarium. For lunch we would hit up Eclipse di Luna in midtown. From there we would go to Humidor Cigar Bar & Lounge and chill have a couple of cigars and drinks. Throughout this day I would have my high school friends tag along and some day even visit there house to eat or have a drink. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to thank my mother because she gave me the encouragement do what ever I love to do and to never give up. My father for giving me the skills to work with my hand. I was always helping him with projects around the house. To my amazing wife continue to push me into being greater then I was the day before. And the support from my friends if it wasn’t for them breaking there phones the idea would have never came to me.
