We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcus Fitzpatrick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcus, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business was less about not wanting to work for anyone else and more about not limiting the amount of value I could create. I wanted to take that responsibility to positively effect my life and the people around me. I knew I could not do that by limiting myself to a set number of what I could get paid for the value I brought to the table, so ownership was the obvious choice for me.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
If I had to say what sets me apart from others is my ability to be creative. 2020 presented a lot of challenges within the restaurant and chef industries, but I am excited and proud of how I was able to position my brand to capitalize on the work that was put in over the last year. Health is wealth and moving forward into 2021 I want the Chef Todd brand to not only continue to be known for creative culinary but health and wellness as well.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Although I’m still relatively new to the city there are a few places that have left an impression on me. Louisiana Bistreaux, Cigar City Club, Fellaship and Ledet Ethiopian Restaurant are a few spots I like to frequent. I have to say though I’m particularly impartial to my favorite place to be, C&C Social House where the owner (Joy Huffman) has created something special. A members only lounge with an unmatched vibe and a Amazing food program designed by yours truly….

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It all starts with my FAMILY who are my biggest supporters, they have helped to keep me focused and continued to encourage me throughout my journey. But I would be remiss if I didn’t give credit where credit is due. Shout out to the 2nd Harvest Culinary Program back in Orlando, FL who gave me my culinary start. There have also been a few people since arriving in Atlanta that have had a great impact on helping my culinary career blossom in Atlanta… -Chef TaTa (@TheDopestChef) -Jay Lilley (@courtdreams1) -Joy Huffman owner of (@ccsocialhouse) I am forever grateful for my family and friends that have helped me along the way as I continue to build the Chef M Todd brand.
