We had the good fortune of connecting with Marchell Sade and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marchell, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Having the determination and ambition to build a legacy, not having to worry about how I am going to make a living for me and my family when the choice is solely up to me, is my parents mindset. And I must say watching my parents not having collage degrees was an experience I appreciated the most and I still watch them both everyday inspires, and motivates me to know that you must take risk to get the results you want and all you have to do is put in the work! Taking risk really taught me that I had to stop thinking small, forced me to put my big girl panties on and maximize my mindset. To the point of being so passionate about your vision of your business to at times having to risk it all to achieve your dream. I had to realize that if I want something bad enough I had to take risk and have a strong desire to go after it everyday. My parents allowed me to see the ambition was already in me. So I figured if I created a business I was passionate about there is no limit to where my drive will take me.
I wanted my first risk to be real and authentic so I took the risk by not only starting a business but building a community where you can be vulnerable and confident in the skin you are in! Right before I came up with the idea for LOHV Essentials I was in a dark place in my life, extremely lost and I begin searching within, I asked myself. “Who am I, and why am I here?”. One of the ways I built my confidence to get back up and try again was through my skincare routine. I remember I would go to stores looking on the shelves and I had the hardest time finding skincare products with clean ingredients. I noticed there wasn’t a market for 100% Vegan skincare with clean ingredients and thats when I decided to fulfill it. I immediately took action on my first real risk in life and start a 100% Vegan skincare line called LOHV Essentials.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
After over 13 years + and continuing of much success in the Real Estate industry, from helping people into their dreams homes, improving communities through renovations, and investing to providing housing. My mom Real Estate broker since 1999 introduced me into the Real Estate industry while attending North Atlanta high school of preforming arts, where I discovered my passion for acting and modern ballet dance. After graduating high school, I didn’t want to struggle financially while working my way into the Entertainment Industry, so for many years Real Estate financially supported my acting career and along the way helped me to be able to invest in myself so I could be able to fulfill my purpose throughout my many gifts and talents. After many years of Real Estate experience and having my son on purpose at a young age. Adding to my life there was not only lessons learned but it was challenging for me to finally take the courage to conquer all my heart desires, which is being an all-around artist; dance, acting and much more, while balancing the family-oriented side of me as well. Launching LOHV Essentials 100% Vegan Skincare line not only opened my diverse, creative side, it helped me to step into GOD’s calling and purpose over my life. Not only do I want to be known as a business professional, family oriented and loving mother but one that carries a contagious uplifting joyful spirit filled with light and genuine love.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Georgia Aquarium, they say we have the biggest aquarium in the world… not sure if anywhere has built a bigger one yet so yes definitely there first! Atlantic Station is definitely one of the first places I love to take visitors because it has plenty of good shopping stores, good food, its a great place to meet new people and socialize, oh yeah and free parking for two hours ! I always take everyone there to get them nice and tired. We definitely have to go to a Hawks basketball game for sure and our falcons football fans are so live both are a great experience. How could I forget about the belt-line?! It’s a laid-back atmosphere, a great outdoor place to ride electric scooters, have a picnic, eat at nice restaurants, yoga, valley ball, skateboard, roller blade, indoor and outdoor shopping at Ponce City Market and grocery shop all in one place. If you love soul food, you must try Busy Bees. And the list goes on… these are just a few places I will take visitors to.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout the owner of Slutty Vegan Pinky Cole for paving the way for Vegan community businesses. She makes being a Vegan fun with good food to look forward to. Her Vegan burgers helped my vegan transition tremendously! Now I can finally say I’m happily Vegan and I have a 100% Vegan Skincare Company to complete the lifestyle.
