We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcelle Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marcelle, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought behind starting my hair salon; On Point Salon was to create a hair sanctuary for women. A space in which each woman can feel comfortable, relaxed and peaceful while receiving exemplary hair care services that is specific to their hair care need.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Firstly, one of the things I am most proud of is when my Clients compliment me on how peaceful they feel at my salon. I smile each time because it let’s me know that my goal of creating a peaceful environment is achieved. Secondly, I am excited to give my hair loss warriors a new leach on life by the various hair replacement services that I offer. Hair loss has robbed so many of these beautiful ladies of their smile, self esteem and confidence. Therefore it has become my goal to restore confidence, self-esteem and to experience their radiant smiles when they see themselves for the first time with their new hairstyle. I am so honored and blessed to not just do good hair but to thrive in a space in which I help to add value to women lives by restoring their Crowns.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a very simple person and I believe in supporting the local small businesses, so I will probably introduce them to downtown Suwanee where my salon is located. It has many delicious eateries located in the town of Suwanee aligning the outdoor venue in which craft shows and concerts are held in the spring and summer time. It is also just a good space to just chill. You can grab some food and walk over to the park and sit and enjoy watching the kids play and just being a part of the community.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout is to my hubby and sons that give me the motivation to push through life’s ever changing landscape
