We had the good fortune of connecting with Marc L. House and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marc L., what do you attribute your success to?
Whether it’s Ministry or the Policeforce, the most important factor behind my success is Consistency.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets you apart from others? Everybody was somebody to me. I never treated anyone like a criminal. I studied my craft and my people.

What are you most proud of or excited about? I am a proud Hostage Negotiator, Gang Specialist, African American Police Officer.

Along the way, I studied my weaknesses and built on my strengths.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
With the demands of my professions as an Atlanta Police Officer as well as that of a Bishop, my schedule rarely allows me the convenience of recreation. However, I am known to ride my Harley Motorcycle through the nature and park scenery of Stone Mountain, McDonough and Conyers, GA from time to time. It is at the top of Stone Mountain, GA that I named my church, Victory City Church.

Enjoying the soulful cooking of Auntie Laura’s or Ray’s Kitchen both in Forest Park, GA are also a delight for me and my family.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My grandmother, Dr. Eulah M. Nelson as well as my spiritual father, Bishop George G. Bloomer.
