We had the good fortune of connecting with Manuela Martinaitis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Manuela, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
I am training to become a Jungian psychoanalyst. I am currently part of the Memphis-Atlanta training seminar and part of the the IRSJA (Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts) where I have been a candidate for the past year. The process is long, grueling, and exhilarating. Psychoanalytic training can take anywhere from five to eight plus years.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Practice: I am affiliated with the Richmont Trauma Center – a counseling center that provides quality mental health treatment to those impacted by single episode and complex trauma.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Favorite spots in the city include any show at the Fox Theatre, dinner at Poor Calvin’s, and a relaxing day at Jeju.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank Pete Williams, my personal analyst, Mark Winborn, my supervisor, and the entire MAJS cohort for their support. My two lovely daughters are also a large part of this journey.
