Meet Makiko Kobayashi | Dance instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Makiko Kobayashi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started dancing at the age of 7, and I have been continuing it for over 25 years. The reason I have been able to keep going and feel happy about it is because I grow as a person and the tough experiences become lessons and motivation. Being able to continue doing what I love is what makes me happy.
　
What I want to share with the world is to simply focus on living life joyfully!

I’m sure the essence and shortcuts to things lie in realizing that everything that happens is for the best, and being grateful for everything is the quickest path.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since I am based in Georgia, I would first like to take you to Stone Mountain, which offers stunning views. Having grown up in the entertainment industry, Atlanta is a hub for music culture, and I want to share the city’s club culture and the local vibe that you can experience firsthand by walking through its unique streets.

If it’s with my dancer friends, I’d love to take you to famous dance studios and recording studios, as well as enjoy dance activities during sports game events.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The number of people who have influenced me is immeasurable! Both positive and negative experiences have been valuable lessons that have helped me grow in life.

I don’t believe there is such a thing as a perfect person, but I am always grateful to my ancestors for instilling in me the belief to keep moving forward.
