We had the good fortune of connecting with Make-Allen Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Make, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?

DON’T Do What You Love: Instead, do what you can’t stop thinking about. Whether you know it like the back of your hand or not. With this spirit and curiosity behind your action you are more equipped to tolerate the grueling growth curves needed to become great at something. Do what feels right. Do what you know people will always need. If you keep these as your compass, as you build you ideas you can always get creative and insert elements that project your passions, personality, the things you love into this newly identified need-based product or service endeavor which you once couldn’t stop thinking about.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

I am the Founder of DAP Collectors Hand Sanitizer; also known as “DAP”. We are proudly known as the Hand Sanitizer for the culture, providing a proven more effective, higher quality, and more sensory pleasing hand hygiene solution to the PPE market. DAP Collectors brand is here to disrupt and help us come together in ways like never before. When government public officials cited “Stop Shaking Hands”, we said “#ChooseDAP”, championing a message that relates to a culturally aware nation who can agree that much of the things such the handshakes, we as Americans love have became somewhat obsolete during the lasting residues and fears brought forth by the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Developing DAP Collectors Hand Sanitizer would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the strategic relationships I fostered during my college years, which enabled DAP Collectors ability to secure a mass manufacturing partnership allowing DAP capability to meet many supply needs of organizations and retailer that want to support us with any purchase quantity from nine-hundred to nine-hundred thousand bottles of our loved product. DAP is a 70% ethanol alcohol blend Liqui-gel, infused with a citrus hint of LemonGrass extract and formulated with moisturizing essential oils for further comfort. Not to mention DAP’s Liqui-Gel not only cleans hands and kills 99% of germs, but DAP Collectors Hand Sanitizer kills bacteria and disease-causing agents thirty seconds faster than our current counterparts on the market. You can find it on on web retail shop ChooseDAP.com

DAP Collectors, the brand was built on the basis of preserving the cultural innovations we create with our hands everyday, and keeping those simple pleasures apart of our culture. The thought to produce a hand cleaning solution was not only a mark of wit and awareness, but a major need for us to give our community the confidence to proudly keep the culture we love alive. Today, DAP Collectors Hand Sanitizer is steadfast in diversification and continued growth of our product offerings with many new impactful experiences we seek to bring to our community. DAP is a recognized Minority Business Enterprise that is slowly becoming the Hand Sanitizer Brand identified as the goto for Hip-Hop Culture.

All the while we’ve seen social distancing and capacity restrictions being lifted in many places, personal hygiene and the cleanliness of our hands is still very important and should be prioritized with the same emphasis as we had during the peak of the Covid-19 Pandemic. At DAP, we will continue to remind our cultural nation at large to make better critical choices, and support black-owned brands in the essential product categories like ours. We invite you all to “#ChooseDAP”.

DAP Collectors is something that is much bigger than myself and it’s not just here for a moment. I do envision this brand to be a staple identity in urbanely inspired communities and DAP will grow legs that will allow it to mature into a mainstream CPG brand with the continuous support of our customers and growing community. We encourage you to follow the journey of DAP as we are developing more products that will become a lifestyle essential.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

City: Los Angeles, CA (Summer)

During this trip a friend and I would explore the scenic vibes, shops, and night life in LA and some outside cities. I love to feel inspired in the environments I’m in while gaining new excitement by meeting new folks at different places like the Dockwilder Beach, maybe we do a few hikes at Runyon Canyon or Griffith Observatory, catch the view on a drive down to Malibu, ride bikes through the Santa Monica Pier. Grab some good eats downtown LA and attend a few networking event in the arts district.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I dedicate this shout out to the wonderful city of Plainfield, NJ. A place full of ambitious, budding talent and change agents. I also dedicate this shoutout to the many mentor figures I’ve had the privilege of being groomed by along my career and in my life’s journey. Some of whom include, Mr. Jefferey Dunn, my former athletics coach, Joan Sanchez, a former employer, Mr. Shep Brown, (who boldly helped me realize that I was not a nine to five guy) and lastly, but most importantly I dedicate this shout out to my father, Deacon, George Brown Sr. for helping my navigate the world and harness my stubbornness and my fiery desire to be a great man of renaissance.
