We had the good fortune of connecting with Makaylan Mendoza and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Makaylan, is there something you believe many others might not?
The first thing that comes to mind would be anything along the lines of “staying motivated” with the combination of “we all have the same 24 hours”. Everyone’s situation is completely different so stating that we all share the same 24 hours is an undermining comment to those who face multiple obligations and difficulties simultaneously day in and day out. Of course you would want to keep your momentum on your new journey/career but motivation isn’t the only thing you’d have to consider. It’s about the discipline and dedication behind your cause. At any moment said motivation becomes toppled with responsibilities, new ideas & what ifs, but when you have a solid routine you’re literally unstoppable. The proof is in the pudding, I dedicated three months to my brand and accomplished my first set of goals all because I knew I wanted to get it done.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I think the most exciting part of NTB is our mission. Which is to provide quality raw hair extensions to everyone, while simultaneously educating and guiding others who are interested in starting a business. We also took into consideration how expensive genuine raw bundles can be, so we took the initiative to make it as affordable as possible. We understand that hair is always looked at as an expense when it should be an investment. Hair is one of the easiest ways to express how and what you’re feeling. The colors, styles, layers, lengths all tell a story. We want to know our clients’ stories. We will take additional funds made from revenue to provide housing for veterans and other civilians in need, by investing these funds in real estate.
What makes me the most proud of NalyTheBrand LLC is definitely being able to watch everything unfold. It’s like a full circle moment for me. I’ve always been interested in so many hobbies/careers as a kid, so the solution was to come up with something I could pour those skills into. It wasn’t easy at all, entrepreneurship comes with great highs and devastating lows. The way I got through anything challenging was finding another way to do something using what I had. I was telling a friend just the other day when you start a business it’s not always about the profit. You’ll fall in love with the entire process no matter how annoying or tedious it may seem, it’s so fulfilling to witness the product of what discipline and dedication is to you.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many hidden gems in Georgia. If you don’t do anything else during your stay, you absolutely have to get birria tacos from El Indio or ramen from Jinya ramen bar in Buckhead. After finishing a round of tacos, head towards Clover Land Ranch and rent either a single seater or two seater atvs or go horseback riding. Once the sun starts to set you either go out to dinner or catch a movie and have dinner brought to you at Studio Movie Grill.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I want to give all thanks to the most high. It took alot of patience, courage and discipline to get me through starting my business. Secondly, I have to give thanks and recognition to my friends, family, and even old teachers who helped mold me into the woman I am today. I’m excited to share NTB with everyone!
