We had the good fortune of connecting with Makai C. its Margiela and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Makai C., we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk is important in every path I believe, Without risk and exploring the path of the unorthodox and unknown we wouldn’t advance as individuals or as an overall society.

In the game of music industry risk is something you will have to do constantly. Not a risk that walks the line of life n death but, a risk that will challenge your patience, work ethic, value in your self as an individual, a multitude of things. In this case one thing I’ve given up would be most “friend” social interactions unless it directly ties to music / business. I’ve had to come out of a shell learn to network and build relationships with people I’ve never seen or met in person but have the same exact interests and goals. Opportunities will present themselves and you may not know how it came into play or where it could take you. It’s up to you as the individual to access the risk and rewards while trusting your gut instincts. You have to take risks in order to advance.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
A lot of personal emotion and feeling into the music. I’ve seen a lot so channeling that energy into something bigger than myself is something that can possibly set this music apart from others.

It’s taken a while to get to where the craft is at now but in reality the full potential of this journey hasn’t been reached. Challenges faced are those in myself. Somedays I’m locked and ready to make something and others its hard to get up, but that’s life for a lot of people in my opinion. So in the end remind myself of the progress that has been made and keep it pushin.
Some lessons are no one is your friend in this, its okay to be friendly but keep your guard until you really feel like its alright.

Just excited to see where this music is going. The love for music runs in me since birth it feels like.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
First people that deserve credit are the Higher Power and my mother. the Higher Power guides even when I have no idea on where I’m going on this journey and I just trust the process while trying to expand the craft.
My mother always been the most supportive and loving buying me my first laptop years ago and helping me start this hobby turned profession.

An organization of people that deserve the most creative and inspirational shout is the mob 808 Mafia alongside Metro Boomin, ATL Jacob, TM88, DY and many others. I drive to match quality and take so much inspiration from these power houses. Without their sound and paths to success most producers now a days wouldn’t have a job/career.

I also have to mention the other producers that I work with. Quality work that will stand the length of time is work done collaboratively with like minds. I can’t do anything without those that are working with me now.
