Meet Magdalena Alexander | Model, Influencer, Entrepreneur, & Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Magdalena Alexander and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Magdalena, why did you pursue a creative career?
I decided to pursue an artistic or creative career because that is what motivates me every day to get up and keep going. The art i create, whether it be painting, makeup looks, or outfits i have put together, helps me to express myself and spread beauty and positivity. Influencing others to be themselves and to find comfortableness in their own skin is one of my biggest goals! This line of work can be tough, but expressing my creativity is what I love to do!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The art that I create consists of painting, modeling, music, makeup looks, and fashion inspiration. What sets me apart from others is my authenticity and history. My grandmother, Magdalena, who I was named after, was an artist and fashion designer. Unfortunately, I never got to meet her but for some reason I feel very close and connected to her. She is one of my reasons for sticking to an artistic and creative career. I feel very motivated by her art and I believe that I was made for this line of work. Something that I am most proud of is the ability I have to believe in myself. It can be hard sometimes,(or a lot of the time lol) but I am very proud of myself for not giving up. It took me a while to get to where I am today professionally. I have had multiple Instagram accounts, my very first called “fashiongirl0013”, which I made at 10 years old! I am now 21 years old, and it wasn’t until February 2022 that I started to gain a broad audience from all over the world! I am also very excited to announce that I will soon be selling clothing with my artwork on it! It is a big step and I am more than ready to take that big step, and move into a new chapter of my career and business! I am still learning and growing, and it was not easy to get to where I am today. There were times I deleted my accounts and didn’t return to social media, there were times where I was inconsistent, and there were times where I went completely ghost. Consistency and authenticity are key! Spreading positivity and love all over my platforms plays a major role in my success. I want the world to know that I want to see everyone happy and healthy, and that following your dreams is not a waste of time! It is an investment in yourself, and everyone deserves to feel abundance.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area and I wanted to show them the best time ever, I would take them to eat at Bonchons or Dim Sum Garden in Chinatown, located in Philadelphia, which is about 15 minutes away from where I live in South Jersey. Bonchons has the best wings and Parmesan fries! Dim Sum Garden has an amazing menu, and everything I have tried from there is amazing! One of the best places to get a drink from after our meal would have to be TSwirl Crepe, where they sell the best bubble tea known to mankind!!! The Thai tea bubble tea is my favorite. The best part is that all of these places are on the same block in Chinatown, so of course the next stop would be to stop in every cute shop in sight and search for anything Sanrio! Some of the most fun, interesting places to check out in Philly are the museums, the graffiti pier, the botanical gardens, and all of the parades and outdoor events that are hosted all over the city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a special thanks to my parents for all of their love and support. They gave me the tools I needed at a young age to tap into my inner creativity. They signed me up for dance classes, art classes, piano lessons, and soccer. Without them I don’t know where I would be in this world, they have been there for me through everything. My mom and dad have gone above and beyond their duties as parents, and I am so grateful to have both of them in my life today.
