We had the good fortune of connecting with Maeghan Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maeghan, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Honestly, if speaking to aspiring agents, I’d have to say the true commitment, discipline and dedication it takes to market yourself and bring in clientele. It’s a daily balance of lead generating constantly, self care, educating yourself on the market, laws, contracts, etc. It’s so much more to real estate than what HGTV highlights and I love HGTV lol but I wish people knew what all really went into the world of being a full time Realtor. If speaking to clients, I’d still mention commitment, discipline and dedication simply because buying, selling or renting a home requires those things as well. There are lots of moving pieces but the journey can be much easier when working with someone who can guide you seamlessly.
What should our readers know about your business?
Well for starters, I absolutely love my small business. I love how we are different. We help buyers, sellers and renters. What sets us apart is our true passion for educating our clients thoroughly and putting ourselves in their shoes to ensure we represent their best interest always. We pride ourselves on delivering extraordinary service to all! I’ve been working as a full time Realtor since August of 2018 and boy did I have my episodes of trial and error, I still do today. It was so not easy but definitely worth it..
Improvement can occur daily but you have to want to improve and go after the betterment of yourself as an individual first to then pour into your business and clients. There’s no real golden answer I have to tell you how I overcame the challenges thrown at me except that I kept going. Life throws curve balls but you can’t let them stop you from traveling your destined path. A few lessons I’ve learned along the way is treating people right goes a long way. I also learned that along with treating people right, you cannot please everyone which is okay. Oh and a huge lesson I learned just last year is that hiring things out is super beneficial. When doing so, don’t sweat the small stuff or things you cannot control. I used to drive myself crazy trying to do it all. Then along came Brianna, my full time Team Coordinator, and she takes so much off my plate.
My business may be small but we are certainly mighty. The MWM Team is happy to help anyone in need of our real estate services. Our goal is to continue empowering, enlightening and enhancing the lives of others through real estate.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ohh, I loveeeee The Battery, The Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta, Marietta Square Market, The West Cobb and East Cobb Avenues and Six Flags. I could go one but don’t want to overwhelm anyone. I love a good adrenaline rush, great deals and great food. Now let’s talk about great food. Capers for their salmon fritters, if you like seafood. Volcano Steak and Sushi for the large portions and experience. Longhorn’s for the Mango Long Pour and their redrock grilled shrimp or their wings. Stoney’s by Cumberland Mall for literally everything. And if you like sweets, try Nothing Bundt Cake. If you prefer to relax and not visit an amusement park or a restaurant, a spa day at The Chateau Elan would definitely be a great place to visit. The atmosphere there is just amazing and so is the wine. Who doesn’t love food, shopping, amusement parks and wine!?
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to first say thank you to my CEO – GOD. Without him nothing is possible. Then I’d like to shine the spotlight on my parents for raising me and teaching me discipline at such a young age. I have to thank my mentor Melissa who introduced me to real estate. She was so patient with me and I truly appreciated that. A special thank you to all of my clients, family, friends and social media family for supporting me, sharing my info with others and encouraging me to always do more. And how could The MWM Team thrive without our amazing biz partners!? My lender Aubrey Wilcox with Mike Garrett’s Team, my attorney Christina Pritz, my inspectors, my brokerage and my amazing team coordinator Brianna Jackson. A team moves only with help from everyone doing their part, I couldn’t be where I am without all of them. Last but not least, I have to thank my husband Chad for always being in my corner loving me and supporting me through my business growing pains.
