We had the good fortune of connecting with Madison Castleberry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Madison, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
The most pivotal decision I’ve made in my career was committing to the idea of being a stay-at-home mom while also contributing financially to our family. I’ve always been ambitious and knew I wanted to work for myself in some capacity. This was a decision I made long before becoming a mother, but it truly solidified for me after my daughter was born. Being able to build and grow my business in the pockets of time that motherhood offers—while being present with my daughter “full-time” and diligently working toward my own dreams—has been incredibly fulfilling. I honestly can’t imagine a better way to live my life!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started my wedding content creation business in 2023, just a couple of months postpartum, and it’s been an incredible journey. As a new mom, I had always dreamed of being a stay-at-home parent, and the idea of sending my baby to daycare didn’t sit well with me. But soon after my daughter was born, I realized that being a stay-at-home mom also meant losing a part of myself—specifically, the person I was outside of being a mother. I think many new moms experience this feeling, especially in those early months, when it can feel like your only purpose is to care for another human being, and everything else fades into the background. I knew I needed something more, something that allowed me to hold onto my identity as an individual while still being present for my family.
Looking back to high school, I’ve always had a passion for the wedding industry—I dreamed of being a wedding planner or working in some capacity within the industry. But life took me in a different direction, and I ended up leaving college before finishing my event management degree, which led me away from that path. Instead, I spent years building a career in content creation and social media marketing. I really honed my skills in those areas, and by the time I was pregnant in late 2022, the term “wedding content creator” was starting to gain traction on social media. I remember thinking, “This is exactly what I need to do”—and I decided to take the plunge.
The journey wasn’t without its challenges. It took a lot of learning, trial and error, and navigating a sometimes unfriendly wedding industry on the vendor side. That was definitely a difficult hurdle at first, but I’ve learned and grown from it. In less than two years, I’ve had the privilege of working with over 65 brides in more than 10 states. It hasn’t always been easy—especially in a rapidly growing and increasingly saturated niche—but professionalism, experience, and an unwavering commitment to quality have helped set my brand apart.
What excites me most is the ability to help brides tell their unique wedding stories through content, and I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve built. Along the way, I’ve learned the importance of persistence, flexibility, and staying true to my vision, even when faced with obstacles. For me, this business isn’t just about creating beautiful content; it’s about creating an experience that feels authentic and personal. I want the world to know that my brand is built on those values—on helping others while staying grounded in the things that matter most to me: family, creativity, and the drive to follow my dreams.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I grew up in Atlanta but only recently moved back, so I’m still exploring all over again! But there are definitely a few spots I’d take my best friend to make sure they have the best time.
I’d kick things off with drinks and dinner at The Garden Room in Buckhead. It’s one of my husband and I’s favorite spots—actually, it was where we had one of our first dates, and it’s just a fabulous place to start an evening out. From there, I’d make sure we head to the Atlanta BeltLine and Ponce City Market. It’s a must-see for anyone visiting Atlanta, and I’d plan a whole day to shop, eat, and explore the breweries along the BeltLine. When the weather’s nice, it’s an absolute vibe—especially if we zip around on electric scooters from Ponce City to Krog Street Market.
If we’re in the mood for some classic shopping, Lenox Mall is always a good choice. Afterward, we’d definitely grab some comfort food at the Cheesecake Factory—the perfect way to recharge after a full day of retail therapy!
For my animal-loving friends, I’d plan a full day visiting both the Georgia Aquarium and the Atlanta Zoo. The aquarium is one of my all-time favorites, and if we have extra time, I’d throw in a visit to the World of Coca-Cola next door. It’s a fun, interactive experience that never disappoints.
There’s so much to see and do in Atlanta, but those spots are my go-tos for a perfect week of exploring!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! My success is far from a solo effort, and I’m incredibly grateful to the amazing team of content creators who have supported me every step of the way. Not only do they help with filming in-person weddings, but they also show up for the brand in countless ways. I couldn’t do this without them!
I also want to give a huge shoutout to my incredible husband, Ryan. Without him, I wouldn’t have been able to start this business in the first place. He’s sacrificed so many weekends, taking care of our baby so I can chase my dreams. I love him deeply and am beyond thankful for everything he’s done.
Lastly, all credit for any success I’ve experienced goes to Jesus Christ. Without His love and blessings, none of this would be possible. I am eternally grateful for His guidance and grace.
