We had the good fortune of connecting with Madelynn Pierce and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Madelynn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
There wasn’t really any definite thought process for us! The owner, Amy Gelsthorpe, is very fly by the seat of her pants and with American Trilogy that’s what we did! Once we opened a American Trilogy we realized the excitement and the need for two other storefronts in our town so we opened everlasting Bridal and American Trilogy Formal. This was all done in less than a year and it was definitely pretty crazy but it was definitely a lot of fun too!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My name is Madelynn Pierce and I am the social media marketer and buyer for American Trilogy and American Trilogy Formal. I am 21 years old and how I got here was definitely crazy. When 2020 hit I came home from college and was working and doing school full-time, I didn’t love either and I sat down with my parents a.k.a. my bosses to talk about opening up some thing that I was truly passionate about. American Trilogy was born in October 2020, everlasting Bridal was born in January 2021, and American Trilogy Formal was in the works from July 2021 to opening in November 2021. We are around a full year old for 2/3 store fronts, there are definitely some learning curves as far as things that we haven’t had to deal with whether that be problems or circumstances or different scenarios but we take what we don’t know and strides and we try to figure it out to the best of our ability. I think the most important thing to note about our business is that we are a family owned company and we really strive for making it as personable as an experience as it possibly can be.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I definitely would say that we would need to go eat at Silver Queen, as well as grabbing some drinks from there. I would want to stay in downtown Monroe; go shopping at some of the local places, like Rinse, Addison’s wonderland, saltbox, etc. and then I would love to go to the roe which is this awesome new restaurant here in Monroe!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our team is definitely our biggest support system, as well as the area in which we are in!
