We had the good fortune of connecting with Madelyn Tenney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Madelyn, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
Although much has changed throughout my life and career, my love for wedding planning has never wavered. I have seen such tremendous growth in our company over the last few years, and I could not be more thankful. Madelyn Tenney Events has grown from only offering day-of-coordination in North Georgia, to a company that travels across the Southeast and has three branches of business: Design, Planning, and Content Creation. We have grown from a team of one to a team of seven.

The goal for me has always been to one day open a venue. I love traveling to new places and the creativity that comes with the ability to design at different venues, but ultimately, I want to build my own. A venue for me would be the best of both worlds – a place to exercise my creativity and passion for design and the opportunity to walk through this precious season with brides; while still having the flexibility to be a wife and mother in the future. I dream of hosting my dear friends at the venue, bringing my children to work, and a place to create lifelong memories.

I have always said that we were created for community and to love others well, and building a venue would allow me to cultivate a space for both to flourish.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, but the goal was never simply to be a business owner. The truth is, I have fallen in love with the wedding world and that passion has motivated me to learn how to run a business. Learning how to be your own marketing agency, accountant, public relations expert, and ultimately the wedding planner (while being a full-time college student for the first 3 years) hasn’t always been glamorous, but my love for the industry is what allows me to push myself in all of the other areas needed to be successful.

The one thing that I have relied on my entire life is my faith. Here at Madelyn Tenney Events, faith is an essential part of everything we do. From the consult calls to the team meetings, our team is constantly striving to glorify God while we do what we love.

I also owe much of our success to the girls on The Madelyn Tenney Events staff. They are my biggest cheerleaders, loyal to no end, and sacrifice so much of their time to ensure that our brides have the most perfect day imaginable.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta is such an exciting place filled with so many fun opportunities. There are endless incredible experiences, although, my favorite spot has to be Ponce City Market!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to my fiance, Will. He was my “team” at my first few weddings, has been my constant voice of encouragement for years, and he deserves the world. I love you!
