We had the good fortune of connecting with Madam Dixie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Madam, what role has risk played in your life or career?
When you believe in yourself you can’t be scared to take risks. Risks in your career shows your hungry and dedication to your craft. Never be scared to bet on yourself. I’ve had family/friends say I couldn’t rap and should stick to my day job, but this is my passion and they don’t determine my destiny. One of the biggest risks I took is putting my entire work check into my WWS music video. I truly believe in my creativity, my music, and my vision. I prayed that God will work everything out and the seed I sowed into my video will pay off. It was the biggest risk I took so far but I believe so much in me I just know it will all be worth it.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
What sets me apart from others is my drive, dedication, and resilience. What will break the average person has shined the star within me. When I perform I put my entire heart into it and make sure I give it my all. I don’t care if it’s 5 people or 10,000 we gone have us a good time and I’m gone make it worth it every single time . What I’m most proud of is my connection with the mafia. The mafia are my fans who have become more than just fans they are literally my family. The best part about doing what you love is having people who love what you do and how you do it. They ride for me and I ride for them. We in this together.
I got where I am professionally by finally believing in myself, discipline, prayers, and a great support team. When I say it wasn’t easy it wasn’t. There are still days that have you with questions like what’s my purpose? Is what I’m doing worth it? Will it pay off? But praying consistently, staying committed to the process and removing all negativity you’ll overcome the challenges. Trust me on this.
The most important lesson I learned on this journey is to trust your instincts. People will give you all kinds of advice based on their experience, their fears, their struggles, and or success. But always remember what worked for them may not work for you. What they are telling you is not for you may just be exactly what will set you apart and put you where you need to be. Trust you boo and trust that God will be with you no matter what.
What I want the world to know about me Madam Dixie is that I have always been told what I can’t do, and always been told who in a negative way people believe I will become. I am here to tell you that as long as I’m alive and capable I will always continue to beat the odds and those stereotypes that were given to me but sure as hell don’t define me. I will always continue to make history and walk in my purpose. So remember my name cause I’m here to stay.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When I’m in Atlanta must go to places for me are: Brunch (Cru or Lilys) , Lennox mall to shop, MICS karaoke, and Blue flame. I would really love to have a hang with Madam day and Atl natives show me where I need to be and let’s have a good time.

Greatest shoutouts to my support team who believed in me before I knew the worth in believing in myself. The days I wanted to give up you made sure to pour into me and love me through all my stages. I’m forever grateful. My mother & stepdad, my daddy, grandparents, my uncle, my sister DaShonna and brother Kris, my Vic and his family, my close circle, my DJ”s Nyquil & Smooth.
