We had the good fortune of connecting with Mackroyce Corbitt, Jr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mackroyce, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
When it comes to business, I always knew I would start one. My father owned a business. He owned a janitorial service called Machroyce Janitorial Service, Inc. As a kid growing up I worked closely with him and learned a lot about business from him. Although the janitorial business is a great industry, I somehow knew it was not for me. I loved art and drawing was one of the things I liked doing. I liked creating things. When I got to college I was introduced to computers and learned a new way to create things. As a business major, I learned the importance of marketing and design. I took art classes along with my regular classes. While I was still in college, I combined the two and came up with a printing business. I called it Mackroyce Printing. When I graduated from college in 1997 I was tasked with two options, go work for someone or start a real business. I decided to start a business based on what I did in College and Computer Printing Etc. was formed. I wanted a place where my customers could come in and sit with me and come up with designs to help them grow their business. I took my graphic design skills and added printing first, then promotional items, and finally web design. Today we help people grow their business through the use of Graphic Design, printing, web design, and promotional items.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Computer Printing Etc. was established in 1997, but our family has been providing professional services to Dothan, Alabama and the Wiregrass Area since 1966. We offer quality business cards and promotional items at an affordable price. Computer Printing Etc. also offers web design and graphic designing. Our mission is to save you money and help you grow your business, organization, church, etc. Putting your ideas on paper and offering quality products at an affordable price is what we do. Computer Printing Etc. offers you various types of printing and over 300,000 promotional items for you to choose from. We are a one stop shop for all your printing and marketing needs. We have partnered with some of the leading printing, promotional items manufacturing, and hosting companies around (i.e. Bic, Papermate, Adobe, Gill-Line, GoDaddy, Ionos, etc.). If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wow, Dothan has so much to offer. I would start by taking them to the George Washing Carver Museum downtown and then to the Wiregrass Museum of Arts. After that we could tour downtown Dothan and visit some of the local shops and book stores. Of course I would have to take them to my business and show them what we are doing. Need a haircut or natural hairstyle, I would take them to my wife’s hair salon, Hairoglyphic Hair and Beauty Salon located in Parklane Plaza off Montgomery hwy. Then I would go to the Sugar Shack, which is a new restaurant owned by Commissioner Kevin Dorsey. If they have kids, I would take them to Adventure land for Go Carts, miniature golf, and gaming. On another day, we could visit some of the food trucks we have in town. If they stayed till Sunday, we could visit one of the churches in our community.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to my father Machroyce Corbitt, Sr. and mother Christine Corbitt who are in heaven watching over me and who have guided and inspired me over the years. I would like to give a shoutout to my loving wife Nassandra Corbitt and my two sons Mackroyce III, and Micah who continue to push me to be better and do better. I would like to thank all of my customers, family, and friends who believed enough in me to support my business. Last and not least in anyway, I thank God for all he did, is doing, and will do for me and my family.
